Sarah Palin, who has written that Kennedy was wrong in his speech, and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) both play up their evangelical connections. Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum wears his conservative Catholicism so prominently on his sleeve that you'd think he was running for archbishop.

Gotta love distraught liberals' hyperbolic hysteria.

“Old time religion” ??!!

WTF ??!!!

Christianism (and judeo-christianism...) has more than 2000 years and it’s a GOOD OLD TIME RELIGION !
Kennedy probably thought that Jesus Christ was a liberal moron . I don’t know why he was crucified...

Only liberal nuts believe that everything considered as new is good and the opposite for what is considered as “old”.

The liberal way of thinking is poor and pathetic . It fits with amnesic brainwashed nuts

Of course, the LA Times could not put that speech into context.

In 1960, LFK stood to be the first Roman Catholic president of the US. Many were afraid that he would take his orders from Rome. THAT is the reason he made that statement.

August 6 is no day for a fast. It is Transfiguration Day, for [New Calendar] Orthodox Christians and Roman Catholics, among others.

We celebrate Divine Liturgy, bless (and eat) grapes, and eat fish.

Its best to honor Holy Transfiguration, and to pick another day for a fast. (The first two weeks of August are the Dormition Fast, so most days other than Transfiguration we [New Calendar] Orthodox will be abstaining already.)

However, the obamaite and liberal “separation of church and state” advocates are hypocrites, since they exalt islam and put radical muslim fifth columnists in the White House and other high places!!!!

"I believe in a president whose views on religion are his own private affair,"

This attitude shows a complete ignorance of what religion, or at least Christian faith, is all about. If one is regenerated and indwelt by the Holy Spirit then their faith will inform every single aspect of their life, every second of every day.

I have a problem understanding that there is no place that can be found that states that there must be a separation of church & state. The way I understand it, is only that the government cannot create any religion.

Can anyone explain this more clearly, in order to understand if the 'church & state' being bandied around is really not true. If it is true, where can the information be located?

a president whose views on religion are his own private affair

So said the godless libertine. We know about his "private affairs".

The main problem with sinister right wing culture warriors is that there are not nearly enough of them.

An old saying in politics: if you seek victory, you’re going to need fanatics. Lots of them.

No more reaching across the aisle unless it’s to grab someone’s throat.

Sinister - that means “left”. The sense of malevolence and danger associated with that word stem from the hidden left hand holding a dagger.

The right is the side of openness and fellowship.

That writer has things backwards.
