Okay, you media people have been going about this the wrong way. Now, you need a good pep talk. Before you executives go in Monday morning and start chopping heads over this Sarah Palin email debacle, take a seat around the table and listen up.
Before I begin, Id like to welcome some of you by name who have decided to take a seat in this electronic board room: Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angles Times, Time Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Daily Telegraph, Alaska Daily News, Huffington Post, USA Today, Associated Press, Politico, Miami Herald, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Boston Globe, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, PBS, NPR. Oh, and I see Fox News is here by doesnt have a seat at the table. Thats fine. Fox can just go stand over there in the corner since many of you folks dont consider them to be a news outlet anyway.
With that said, lets get to work on getting rid of Sarah Plan X (since plans A through W hasnt worked).
The good news for you is that as of now; you still have the GOP hierarchy in our pocket. Since most of them are so scared they may get the same treatment, none of them are coming to her defense, or even crying foul over your behavior yet. On the other hand, all of you look like a bunch of digital dumpster-divers. And now you got all those on the right (even some in the middle) starting to insist that you demand all the past communications from others (well, one in particular right now whose paper trail has been sealed by executive orders). Do you know what kind of bar you have just unwittingly set for public officials?
As I look around this room, all of you are a colossal embarrassment to the First Amendment.
Here is where youve been blowing it in a nutshell: You choose to believe all things negative about Sarah Palin. Collectively, you made up a Tina Fey like character in your own minds. You reported the jokes about her as news, and the truth about her as a joke. You then began reporting with that narrative. From the $150,000 wardrobe to openly accusing her of being an un-indicted co-conspirator to mass murder (and then made more false accusations after her response called all of you out). You looked so much like a bunch of idiots following that bus of hers around that some of you even had to admit it. And now, all these emails.
Lets look at this from a business (or as we say in the board room return-on-investment) standpoint: Youve spent over 3 years reporting how a community-organizer was/is the greatest phenomenon thats happen to America since the 57th state was admitted to the union, and Palin is so dumb that Joe Bidens epic gaffs are just well, Thats Joe!. As a result, we have Jimmy Carter thanking his peanuts that he wont go down as the worst president in history, a current Whitehouse occupant who approval ratings reach the upper 40 per cent level only after an over sampling of democrats from urban areas (yes, we know how youre conducting polls), and a private citizen/hockey mom who is now the most popular public figure in the nation hands down.
In other words, all your hard work has produced the OPPOSITE EFFECT.
So no more pointing fingers. Stop beating yourselves up. If you want to beat Sarah Palin, and prevent her from becoming the 43rd President of the United States, pay attention and follow these instructions:
Encourage her to run for President, and then have her policies and principles debated in the public/political arena, and thus defeated at the voting booth.
Sounds simple doesnt it?
After all, you say shes pretty stupid. Even some in the GOP says she still needs to bone up on those foreign issues before she can be taken seriously. And her positions cant hold a candle to those other [lack-luster] candidates, right?
Fact is, other than a few times on Fox News, NONE OF YOU have EVER reported what her positions are. (belay that. There was that Death Panel thing. You guys beat her up non-stop on that until it came out that it was true. Tisk tisk )
She gives a great policy speech; you talk about what she wrote on her hand. She gives a position speech at a university; you go dumpster diving for the contract of her speaking fee. She speaks at a rally in Wisconsin (probably one of her best speeches ever), and you cover the protestors. She gives America a history lesson, and you folks turn into a bunch of creepy email stalkers, while blaming her for demanding so much attention.
all the time asking yourselves Is she going to run for president? as if thats the only thing you care about.
Well, look at yourselves. None of it has worked, its only made her stronger, and all you have left is to go after her on her own positions. Take a look at her Facebook page. Seems she has a position on every major policy issue that will come up in the 2012 campaign. When you compare them to the other candidates
oh wait most of them havent even made their positions known yet.
You can see how she differs from the incumbent on major issues just like the other GOP
oh wait. Many of them sound just like the current president, and dont have the guts to even challenge him on some things.
Why not just take those clips from Fox news and run them over and over again. Let your audiences know just what kind of a
oh, some of you have done that havent you? Great for ratings, but outside of simply laughing, you really havent challenged her on substance.
Since the credibility of most of you in this room is now in the toilet, at least you can get some good ratings on something other than Sarah Palin. How about going to the White House and demand folks up there respond to some of her accusations? How about holding them accountable for their statements and actions (translation: doing your jobs)?
Wouldnt it make sense that if you exposed Palins positions to the public and compared them to everyone elses, the public would respond in the voting booth and reject her polices?
Or would they?
So, Cmon. We all know you want people to watch the political debates and theyll all be boring if Sarah isnt on the stage. And do you really want to spend half of the first GOP debate on Palin if shes not there?
We all know thats whats coming. And since you agree with all your democrat buddies that she would get trounced in the general election, you can stop trying to encourage her not to run for the office, and start dealing with reality that unlike some we wont mention, Sarah has been vetted. Now, you have to beat her on substance. Good luck with that. The people are rising up. And leaders rise to the top. Do you people in the media and in Washington get it, now?
Its called GAME ON.
Sincerly, jimjohn
HOLY FLIPPIN’ CRAP ... bump for later.
THAT! Is clearly a double gambling reference. She is obviously in favor of casinos!
So much for her phony holier-than-thou family values posture. < /s >
In a strategic sense, Governor Palin had to knee-cap the Lamestream Media and take them out of the driver’s seat. She’s just about accomplished that.
There will be no MSM-sponsored “debates” that she will attend, etc. She is doing a complete end-around on them. Sweet.
Man, oh man!
Thanks for writing this great article! You nailed it!
They hate her positions, so it’s tough to acknowledge them.

Good post!
Same thing that happened with Reagan. The media and the lefties spent so much time making personal attacks against him instead of engaging on the issues that Reagan was able to get his ideas out there free of the Media filter. Then all of the personal attacks began to backfire (teflon president) because the American people realized Reagan’s ideas were in sync with their beliefs. If the media says the person who agrees with you is an idiot you begin to take those slights personally and rally to the person being attacked.
Oh, by the way, check out these polls. It kind of illustrates the point, and the liberal’ sense of deja vu.
Barry gets 24% support for his political views:

Palin’s views versus Obama’s views (52,40):

Seems correct to me, unless my total count of WH occupants is incorrect: We've have a total of 43 Presidents and 1 Resident in the White House since founding. Sarah would be the 44th President.
One wasn’t an NBC, and the current one is in serious question. If we go by Constitutionally qualified holders of the office, that just might make her number 43.
Grover Cleveland was president in two non-consecutive terms, making him both the 22nd and 24th President.
Thus we have had 42 Presidents and one resident, which would make Gov. Palin the 43rd.
Niceley written.
In a nutshell - if they really thought Obama would beat her they wouldn’t be trying so hard to keep her from running.
Its the Jack Crabb - General Custer dialog
“Still trying to outsmart me, aren’t you, mule-skinner. You want me to think that you don’t want me to go down there, but the subtle truth is you really *don’t* want me to go down there!”
Now that you have posed Sarah’s operation as an end-around...a football analogy; I submit that when she made her recent bus trip, where she had the MainSlimes running in all directions, she ran a flea-flicker, and she had them so confused they STILL don’t know where the football got to!
Good one, JJ ... we expect to hear more from you in the future on this subject. (Sarah, not the media losers.)
That was exceptional. It would give Mark Steyn a run for his money.
Good job! :)
Not an end-around. She's going right THROUGH them. Like crap through a goose...
