Huntsman, the former Utah governor and China envoy, is testing whether Americans want a different kind of politician

Dunce.
liberal b.s.
No way to this guy!
I’m in Utah, and when he was named Obama’s ambassador to China, people here were dancing in the streets.
Literally.
Who is pushing Huntsman and why?
He appears to be a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.
The guy is a flat out joke and nothing more.
Too close to Obama. PERIOD
Post your pic of vomiting objects here.
The ruling class.
He appears to be a solution to a problem that doesnt exist.
Oh, there's a problem, all right. The ruling class is terrified they might lose their power base. Hence Huntsman. Romney. Pawlenty. Et al...
What kind of guy happily accepts a job from someone, then runs against him?
Then there was this Friday: Hunting for Huntsman: has the center right finally found its champion? ("Civility Candidate")
From the article:
“ He began by reciting in Mandarin an ancient Chinese aphorism about harmony in the family. He spoke so softly he had to hold a microphone to be heard. And by the time he finished a half-hour later, he hadnt attacked President Obama. He hadnt even mentioned him.”
—since our problem is Obama, and not Mandarin aphorisms, I don’t think Huntsman is the answer.
“Americans want a different kind of politician someone who doesnt yell”
—let me translate: anyone who has any principles is considered yelling.
” He stepped off a plane from Beijing six weeks ago and into the control of a cadre of Republicans, most of whom had been assembling a Huntsman campaign without ever having met Huntsman”
—a cadre of Republicans? WTF are these folks? Nobody wants them or their Huntsman.
Somebody ping Huntsman's campaign. I've got some great campaign slogans that I think will guarantee him the Presidency:
A Kinder, Gentler Nation
A Thousand Points Of Light
Read My Lips! No New Taxes!
LOL
That opening line is what caught my eye, but alas there are only so many words I can quote in a post.
Well, I see the moderator has shortened it even more.
Let me put the money quote here again (and the reason I called his media guy a “dunce”).
“But Huntsmans advisers can already see how hell eventually fit in.
When the Miss America pageant of electoral politics happens, which is the debates.... and its a really cheesy set and red, white and blue everywhere....and there are these uncomfortable guys getting ready to eviscerate one another, theres one guy who will stand there as radically different, said Fred Davis, Huntsmans media strategist. He isnt going to eviscerate anyone. He doesnt have a fake, loud, podium-pounding hatred for anybody. Hes going to stand out because hes an incredible breath of fresh air.”
I don't think most Tea Partiers and Republicans in red states that actually go Republican are looking for a "global thinker" for 2012.
The Tea Party won’t go for this either:
“On the campaign trail, Huntsman often dwells on how America is viewed from abroad. From 10,000 miles away, folks, let me just tell you that we lack humanity, we lack civility, we lack basic respect for which this country should be known, Huntsman told one crowd.”
I think Huntsman is supposed to be Romney light. He’s also a Mormon, and has very similar attitudes and statist beliefs, but he doesn’t have all the baggage that Romney has (the Massachusetts disaster).
So I’d say that whoever was pushing Romney may now be pushing Huntsman.
