Susana Martinez is New Mexico's Republican Governor, I'm happy to report. However The LA Times is out for her blood.

"New Mexico abandons efforts to restore Mexican gray wolves" [excerpt] New Mexico's Game Commission on Thursday night voted to stop assisting the federal effort to restore Mexican gray wolves in the Southwest, the latest step by new Republican Gov. Susana Martinez's administration to reverse her state's green course. [end excerpt]

I guess there will be "no soup" for New Mexico either.

LoL, you know, I kinda thought there had been a change at the helm in NM so I did a Google search a couple of different ways before posting. And, I kept getting Richardson. Oh well, my bad. Btw, glad to learn that a Republican is back in charge :)

A good portion of the wolf habitat is currently going up in flames, mainly due to environutter opposition to logging and forest thinning to protect endangered species. Both the wolf and the spotted owl will have a hard time surviving now the over 600 square miles of their habitat has been destroyed.
