Not long after she announced her fifth pregnancy, Sarah Palin faced rumors that it was her daughter Bristol who was having the child Trig Palin, who was born on April 18, 2008.
That falsehood sprung up again months later, during the 2008 presidential campaign, and it has continued to circulate on blogs despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
The e-mails released Friday show that the rumors began very early on.
On April 6, 2008, Palin wrote staffers and her husband, Todd, Sounds like The Bristol rumor was started and continues via Lydas office, a reference to then-state Senate President Lyda Green (R), a frequent antagonist of the Alaska governors administration. Bristol does want it squashed we just dont know how to do so without making it a bigger issue. . . . I figured it was them or [former Palin staffer John] Bitney.
On April 22, Palin wrote staffers: Hate to pick this one up again, but have heard three different times today the rumor again the [sic] Bristol is pregnant or had this baby. Even at Trigs doc appt this morning his doc said thats out there (hopefully NOT in their medical community-world, but its out there). Bristol called again this afternoon asking if theres anything we can do to stop this as she receive [sic] two girlfriend-type calls today asking if it were true.

Gosh, I guess these vultures actually need to print non-stories like this to justify their unseemly feeding frenzy.

It’s so helpful of the WaPo to put a [sic] every time there’s a typo in these emails.
Thanks WaPo!
They are trying to claim that because the known false rumor was already out there that they have no responsibility in their continued coverage of the known false rumor.
They also print these non-stories about Palin for revenue purposes.... Palin’s name in the title will attract a large amount of people to click to the site
The press has had quite a week. First, the Weiner press conference, which sounded like an SNL skit, and now this, while the world burns. Credibility coming out their ears.
State Senator Lyda Green.
She looks the type.
and wearing a scarf to hide her turkey waddle LMAO.
I think she might be our next president.
Thank you lamestreamers.
Without the mainstream media explanation that Governor Palin is a "celebrity" "reality TV star" and "in this to make money", I would have assumed that the sustained enthusiasm and broad-based interest are proof that she is the leading contender for the White House in 2012.
"leu2500 wrote:What "evidence to the contrary?" No birth certificates for either Trig or Tripp have ever been provided. You are taking the word of a woman who has beeen proven, time and time again, to be a liar. Latest example: When Frank Bailey, her longtime aid, released his book he claimed that the Palin administration had manipulated polls. Palin denied this. However, emails have already been found in yesterday's release that prove that Bailey's claim was true. She looks like a Democrat.
State Senator Lyda Green.
It’s a man BABY LOL!
I tried to see if Palin had mentioned Green in her book, "Going Rogue," but unfortunately the book is not indexed.
I wouldn't be surprised if some Democrat(s) had also been spreading the rumor about Bristol Palin being pregnant, but the WaPo story didn't mention them and probably wouldn't even if their names appeared in the e-mails.
BTW, to anyone knowledgeable about the medical facts of Down's Syndrome, these rumors would sound far-fetched. That's because it usually occurs in babies of older mothers and is just about unheard of in babies of teenage mothers.
The minds that conceived this rumor and those that perpetuate it make Anthony Weiner seem perfectly normal.
The fact that giving birth to a child with Down Syndrome is far, far more prevalent among women over 40 than women under 20 was very inconvenient for the moonbats who were hoping against hope that Sarah Palin had lied about being Trig’s mother because he was actually Bristol’s son. So the moonbats started an even more disgusting rumor to explain how Bristol could have had a baby with Down Syndrome: they claimed that such condition sometimes resulted from pregnancies involving incestuous relationships (whether or not there’s an actual correlation I have no idea), and implied that Bristol’s father (and Sarah’s husband), Todd Palin, had impregnated his own daughter. Liberals have absolutely no shame, no morals and no decency.
BTW, we’d still be hearing libtards foaming at the mouth about Bristol being Trig’s mother had Bristol not given birth herself (to a full-term child) just eight months after Trig was born, thus proving that she couldn’t be Trig’s mother. While some moonbats started saying that maybe Sarah’s daughter Willow (who was like 15 or so) was Trig’s mother, thankfully most saw that they couldn’t keep up the lies any longer and moved to a new line of attack.
She’s looks a little like Andrew Sullivan.
