EXCLUSIVE: JOHN EDWARDS NAILED BY DEAD WIFE’s VIDEO TESTIMONY!
National Enquirer ^ | June 10, 2011 | BARRY LEVINE And ALEXANDER HITCHEN

Posted on 06/11/2011 5:20:29 AM PDT by NCjim

In a devastating act of ultimate revenge, a dying Elizabeth Edwards recorded a bombshell secret videotape for prosecutors – nailing her cheating husband John as he will stand trial on charges that could land him behind bars for 30 years.

That’s the stunning secret behind the federal indictment brought against the disgraced former presidential candidate on June 3 – following a two-year grand jury investigation into whether he illegally used campaign funds to cover up his affair with his then-pregnant mistress Rielle Hunter.

“Elizabeth wanted to exact revenge against John for destroying their 33-year marriage and family by cheating with Rielle,” source close to the scandal told ENQUIRER.

“It was Elizabeth’s idea to secretly record a video and tell what she knew of the affair and John’s horrific betrayal.”

The defense cannot cross examine, makes for great tabloid news but its not admissible.

It's been 25 years since I studied evidence. I recall, though, that dying declarations are not only admissible, but are one of the few exceptions to the hearsay rule. It could be that Elizabeth's death was not sufficiently imminent when the tape was made to qualify as a dying declaration, however. And like another poster said, even if it's not admissible as testimony she could have pointed authorities to other evidence or witnesses.

Ah, but when you post on a message board, others will add to your post and this is not a secret. As far as this goes, there is one appropriate conversation about EE on the political forum, and quite another for the religious forum. With all due respect, issues of her salvation and our salvation are more suited for the religious forum.

The fraudulent family they pretended to be was and is a relevant factor in our national politics today - and they supported all kinds of anti-American policies. That political career was financed by a blood sucking legal career that destroyed innocent lives. She was a more than willing participant in all of that.

I also don’t buy that she didn’t know about the affair. So many others around him knew how could she have missed it? I think her ego was hurt when it became public knowledge.

Maybe she gave them enough info to dig up the dirt.

Deathbed confessions do indeed have a place in Court, and have been recognized in many cases as admissible and irrefutable proof.

Let’s see what the Judge thinks about this video. If he rules it admissible then the Breck Girl is toast...badly burnt toast at that...

Would video testimony from a deceased witness be allowed to be presented to a Grand Jury for issuing indictments?

It is evidence for a jury to weigh. Again it depends upon what is in it.

Yes, depending on what she has told, it’s not necessarily hearsay. And if you’ve been privy to info that has been too threatening to your (or your kids’) safety, but find yourself succumbing to death, why not tell where the bodies are buried, finally? The truth will out. She was an attorney. I don’t get why most Freepers are defending John.

“Maybe he can do an ambulance chaser summation...like the one that got him rich”

Whoa! You’ve hit on something big there! That summation was where he “channelled” the thoughts of an in utero fetus on its way to being aborted, IIRC.

What if Edwards goes into a seance on the witness stand and “channels” the deceased Elizabeth!!?

“John....all is forgiven!.....They forced me to make that tape!....it’s all lies!.....Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, be not harsh in your judgement of my beloved husband!....Acquit!....Acquit!!...ACQUIT!!!!!”

He’s already thought of it, IMO.

That, of course, was my point. Even when EE was alive and in remission, she was determined to hunt down all her perceived enemies. With all her wealth and position, she went on Democratic Underground to spread stories about her political enemies. I don’t think even Hillary Clinton lowered herself to that level!

There is a sentimentality that immediately attaches itself to cancer - unlike say, heart disease or diabetes. I’ve never gotten that.

“For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But, if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

But here's the big question... Had she NOT done this, she would have knowingly allowed a guilty man to continue committing crimes, and more to the point, might possibly have allowed this "man" to ascend to the most powerful political position in the world.

Whatever her motives were, the result was to be sure that the guilty were caught and justice allowed to run its course. And she could do this since she was complicit with it, in at least knowing of the crimes committed. So in a way, it was like a death bed confession to a crime.

Why would Elizabeth Edwards campaign for Sarah Palin?

Need I remind folks that this is the woman who during the ‘04 presidential race, said publicly that Lynne Cheney was a bad mother. She pushed Mary Cheney’s lesbianism as a wedge issue without any knowledge of Lynne Cheney. She was a creep.

Dear one they aren't. There are posters that seem to think that Mrs Edwards was "abused" when in fact she was as big a weasel as he is. The two of them deserved one another.

“Would video testimony from a deceased witness be allowed to be presented to a Grand Jury for issuing indictments?”

Yes.

Also, there are at least 18 acknowledged exceptions to the hear-say rule. I’m certain E.E.’s video testimony would fit into far more than the well known death-bed or dying declaration exception.

I don't get it either. This woman was despised and feared by campaign aides. She used her cancer as a tool. And her greed shocked them. It's all in the book Game Change. And, of course, there's her posts on DU that some of us saw. She was NOT a nice woman.

Don’t count on it, this slim ball will talk his way out of it. He didn’t get to where he is financially by following the rules.

However, he did get to where he is by pretending to channel (communicate with) a dead child to win over 400 million dollars in a personal injury trial. How sweet it would be if the prosecution channelled EE, with help from a video, to nail JE.

Keep in mind this is simply a rumor reported by the National Enguirer.
