Thanks, JohnD9207! On the other thread about Tim Pawlenty, an almost identical reaction is taking place - smear the Republican candidate who is never good enough for some of the Freepers here.

That is why we have BHO in the White House, IMHO. Some of Barry’s voters actually saw him as a new Messiah. Do some of the Freepers here behave in the same manner - expecting a perfect man/woman as the candidate? Again, I say, enough already. Our candidates are so much better than Obama, that we need to be encouraging all dialogue between our candidates until the cream of the crop rises, so to speak.

In McCain's case, he just plain wasn't good enough. The reason we have Barry in the White House is because he isn't Hillary. And it wasn't Hillary because Barry's minions engaged in huge primary/caucus fraud. So when you had a not-Hillary running against a "It's my turn now, just like Dole" Republican, the danger of losing, just like Dole, skyrocketed. The primary fault for that rests on the GOP's shoulders. The secondary fault rests on the character of McCain. Palin tried to pull him across the finish line but he couldn't even make it that far.
