Perry has not been the best conservative in the world, immigration has been his Achilles heel, but overall he has done little harm, which is a big positive for any politician.
>> I am a Texas Conservative and I WOULD hold my nose and vote for Rick Perry; however, I can’t say the same for Mitt Romney. If Romney is the GOP candidate, I will vote third party. >>
THOUGHT EXPERIMENT:
Let me ask, and I’m being sincere and not snarky - do you really think if Perry and Romney had been in the same state, that there would be any difference in them at all? I see Perry being an Al Gore guy, actively, as an adult—in TEXAS. I see Mitt being liberal on some issues, as an adult, but in Massachusetts.
All I’m saying is this; is there really any reason to think that once in Washington DC, that Perry would be any different - if not worse - than Mitt in Washington DC. Dorothy, we ain’t in Boston nor Austin anymore....
Point being, I am just as wary of Perry as I am of Mitt, because Texas is Texas and Mass is Mass......and again, I’m simply throwing a theory out there.
I've held my nose and voted for Perry twice. If he somehow winds up being the last man standing in the presidential race, I'll be forced to do so again.
That said, I hope like hell that Sarah gets into it, so that we have a real conservative, with real courage, to vote FOR.
