Bandera County Sheriff's Office Issues Domestic Terrorism Warning Law Enforcement Agency Concerned Radical Anti-Government Groups May Be Moving Into Area Tim Gerber, KSAT 12 News Reporter

BANDERA, Texas -- The Bandera County Sheriff's Office issued a warning Thursday to citizens about an anti-government movement known for acts of domestic terrorism.
The law enforcement agency said followers of The Sovereign Citizens Movement have been known to carry out violent acts, including killing law enforcement officers and other public servants.
The sheriff's office told KSAT-12 News the warning was prompted by the recent shooting death of Bexar County Sheriff's Deputy Sgt. Kenneth Vann.
"We have domestic terrorism right at our doorstep," said Capt. Charlie Hicks of the Bandera County Sheriff's Office.
Hicks said while there's no evidence Vann's death had any links to the Sovereign Citizens, it's the same type of crime followers are known for...

Hey, if I start calling Keith Olbermann a Sovereign Citizen supporter...
Good idea. But seriously, is there so much as a shred of evidence tying Loughner to any “militia” group? I think if there were we would have heard of little else. In fact I recall the evidence suggesting he was a leftwing fruitcake if anything (though I think he’s just nuts). This is either just sloppy journalism or an ominous sign.
Anything to avoid the controversy of watching Moslems, the only significant block of terrorists threatening the United States.
It’s profileeeeeng!
Anti-white propaganda. We can expect to see more of this published in the next 18 months.
“...while there’s no evidence Vann’s death had any links to the Sovereign Citizens....”
“While there is no evidence”....it’s important we on the left make American citizens believe it’s OTHER AMERICANS they should REEEEELY be scared of, NOT MUSLIMS!!!!!
Time magazine still has a cache of stock photos of turkey hunters in camo masks. I’m sure we’ll see a return of covers screaming about:
THE MILITIA THREAT
IMHO its really idiotic to make such allegations without proof...Must be a graduate of the Sheriff "Bull Connor Democrat" Dupnik school of law enforcement.
Not only is there no evidence, a suspect in the killing has been arrested. Here’s what the local TV (KENS5) station had to say about him:
SAN ANTONIO — The day after the arrest of an alleged cop killer, new details emerged on a potential motive.
On Sunday 41-year-old Mark Anthony Gonzalez was arrested for the murder of Bexar County Sgt. Kenneth Vann.
Sheriff Amedeo Ortiz said investigators asked Gonzalez why he did it, to which, Ortiz said, Gonzalez quickly asked for his attorney.
However, Monday at a new conference, Ortiz did share some possible clues.
“We do know for a fact that he had been drinking all day. He was also under medication for depression,” said the sheriff.
Ortiz then hinted at a potential motive.
He at one time applied for the San Antonio Police Department, but the list expired, and he never had the opportunity to become a police man, said Ortiz.
When asked about a motive, Bexar County Sgt. Yvonne Vann, Kenneths wife, responded, “I don’t even think he (Gonzalez) knew what he was doing.”
Vann said she would like to know why, but even more than that she would like justice.
It seems like the accused killer is the typical nut with a grudge.

From KGNB ( http://kgnb.am/news/bandera-county-sheriff-weldon-tucker-resigns )
(Bandera County, TX) — The San Antonio Express News reports that Bandera County Sheriff Weldon Tucker has resigned amid allegations that he abused his official capacity by borrowing a county rescue boat for a personal fishing trip. Tuckers resignation becomes effective on May 5th, the same day of his next court appearance, where the speculation is that a plea deal has been struck and will be announced in court. Chief Deputy Richard Smith is now taking over for Tucker on an interim basis until the Bandera County Commissioners Court can appoint a new sheriff to serve until the next general election.
There appears to be a job opening that someone is trying to get.
That “militia” garbage from lefties is so early ‘90s, but it will distract them from their unemployment consequence of the default ahead.
