Although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that gay and bisexual men comprise the only risk group in the U.S. in which new HIV infections have been increasing since the early 1990s and make up 53 percent of all new HIV infections in the United States each year, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius did not mention them in a speech she gave about the disease.
Sebelius delivered her speech on Wednesday as part of the Obama administrations commemoration of the first reported incidence of HIV/AIDS some 30 years ago.
On June 5, 1981, the CDC reported the first cases of the new disease, found in five homosexual men in Los Angeles, two of whom had died by the time the report was published.
We are here to remember those we have lost to this pandemic and to honor those who fight against the virus and for a cure, Sebelius said on Wednesday. We are here to mark the gains we have made over the last 30 years and to look ahead with hope and purpose at the next steps we must take in our fight against HIV/AIDS.
The story of the first three decades has been one of great commitment, discovery and collaboration, Sebelius said. But it is also a story of enormous uncertainty and terrible loss.

.
The 'they' is the taxpayers and I have a feeling that with income down, unemployment up, inflation rising, the standard of living eroding, and debt piling up that the taxpayers will grow more weary of the leftists deciding best which priorities are funded and pursued when there are ever limited resources.
I can envision AIDS research funding being cut drastically.
That and of course shooting up drugs and sharing needles is a sure fire way to get aids too.
Either way,
eeewwww, ya sick freak.
America was once known for her exceptional Family Values - now we must for political correct reasons bow to deviant behavior. Marriage between two of the same sex? How utterly stupid...
Three come to mind:
Tuberculosis
Parasites
Pneumonia
Gay Related Immuno Deficiency.
