I saw a Republican strategist on Cavuto and she was saying that the scuttlebutt had been that the aides were all getting very frustrated with Gingrich and that he would not listen to their advice. She mentioned the vacation that he is currently on.

Local news here in Austin reporting Perry getting lots of *prodding* from people outside of Texas to run.
He was quite surprised by it.

Yeah I thought it a bit odd that a mass withdrawal from Newt’s campaign is paired with a story about Texan Perry’s possible entrance into the race.
So I should read between lines and deduce that all the Gingrich folks are going over to Perry?
I’ve thought Gingrich was dead meat for a while....does the fact that everyone on his campaign is quitting make it semi-official?

Perry has flaws, and his endorsing Rudy was an absurd thing for a Texas governor to do. Nevertheless, he is something of a conservative with some RINO tendencies. Currently, Perry is trending strongly to the right. He isn’t my first, second, or third choice, but he is better than Romney, Gingrich, and Pawlenty.

" AUSTIN – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has endorsed Rick Perry for re-election, calling him the "true conservative" in a primary election showdown with fellow Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison.
Palin, who electrified the GOP base as the party's vice presidential nominee last year, has strong support among the party's social conservatives. Her endorsement appeared aimed at undercutting Hutchison's appeal with GOP women. Both groups will be important in picking the party's nominee in next year's GOP primary.
In a letter to "Texas Republican women" distributed by the Perry campaign, Palin touts the Texas governor's conservative credentials.
"He walks the walk of a true conservative. And he sticks by his guns – and you know how I feel about guns," she said.
Palin cited one of the Perry campaign's top issues – opposition to federal financial bailouts. And she singled out Perry's opposition to abortion rights.
"Not every child is born into ideal circumstances, but every life is sacred," Palin said in the mail appeal. "Rick Perry knows this – it is at the core of his being."......
Yes, Perry is a rino, but he has the best Texas hair since Farrah.
Yup, another Texas Bush (”a turd by another name would stink as bad”...more appropriate in this case than the original about a rose).
What I found most interesting was that Rick Tyler also left. He has been with Newt for a very long time. He and I traded several e-mails when Newt was trying to defend his Scozofava endorsenment.
