I don't support him for President either, but let's be reasonable. Christie is a tremendous asset as the Governor of NJ. He has a real flair for articulating his positions, and a backbone that should be cloned and transplanted into our other GOP officials. It's difficult to imagine his state electing a more effective conservative.
Right there is the problem. He is not a Conservative. He is all over the place on social issues. When it comes to actually making the serious cuts in funding, Christie is no where. I live in the NJ/Philly media market. I get all the news coming out of Trenton. He has made no serious moves to save the state. Contrast that with what Corbett is doing in PA, Walker in WI or Kasich in OH.
If folks want to say that he is the best Republican NJ can elect, I will agree. But this tagging a generic Tom Kean/ Christie Whitman Republican a Conservative is going too far.
