Washington (CNN) A top adviser to Sarah Palin fired back at Ed Rollins, the longtime Republican operative tapped to run Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's presidential campaign, after Rollins dismissed Palin as "not serious" in a radio interview this week.
Rollins also told Politico on Tuesday that Bachmann will "be so much more substantive" than Palin, and said he is "not afraid" of the former Alaska governor.
Michael Glassner, the chief of staff for Palin's political action committee, issued a rare public statement Wednesday rebuking Rollins as a Washington relic.
"Beltway political strategist Ed Rollins has a long, long track record of taking high profile jobs and promptly sticking his foot in his mouth," Glassner in the statement, provided to Politico and obtained by CNN.
"To no one's surprise he has done it again, while also fueling a contrived narrative about the presidential race by the mainstream media," Glassner said. "One would expect that his woodshed moment is coming and that a retraction will be issued soon."

Fat Head Ed is such a “looser!”
He’s mute and irrevalunt!
Ms. Bachmann COULD have corrected this last
night. She screwed up her first 3 AM call.
She is not ready.
I don’t think I have ever seen so many failures to launch in a GOP cycle ever. Rollins remarks I think might have fatally killed bachmann’s campaign. It was a stupid, unneeded comment. unforced error.
That, my friends, will be that standard low level playbook that will be used the RINOs, establishment elites, who will scared sh-tless by a Palin candidacy.
Exactly.
Therein lies the rub.
Bachmann’s appointment of Ed Rollins reveals her lack of judgement. The appointment of team members is the first test of the good judgement of any leader. BM has flunked her first test.
Same goes for Mark McKenna or Schmidt....anyone who hires these DEMOCRATS POSING as Pubbies will LOSE!!
She is not ready.
This was your first indication?
Too many people fall in love with the rhetoric and not the gravitas behind it.
I speculate that it is a symptom of a deficit of independent judgment. On a scale that represents "inside the GOP," Bachmann is more (inside) compared with Palin, and Bachmann's tapping of Rollins was, I think, an insider's move taken on the basis of advice from insiders.
My sense is that Bachmann's political ambition is in charge of her decision-making, at the moment. She's in it for herself.
We’ve seen and heard thousands of observations and analysis from Palin. I’ve seen/heard basically nothing from Bachmann. What is it about her that gets her up in the Presidental Contender ranks? I just don’t know.
Seeing the hurried/harried Presidential run announcement by Bachmann a few weeks back, who has no experience in national or statewide office, I almost get the sense that the ‘Bachmann candidacy’ has been a ‘contrived’ candidacy by the establishment to derail a Palin run.
LLS
I love the Palin team’s response
I would VERY MUCH like to see a meeting with Palin and Bachman sometime soon
Together they would be unbeatable.
Then they call Herman Cain and ask him to be part of the team.
so it is Palin/Bachman, for 8 years
Then Bachman/Cain for 8 more
Then Cain/Rand Paul
Then Paul/Rubio
(I can dream, can’t I?)
May 18, 2011: HANNITY: And welcome back to “Hannity.” Continuing to join us tonight, former Alaska Governor, Fox News contributor Sarah Palin.
Governor, a lot of people, last time I spoke to you, I was asking, you know, where are you in this process of making your decision? And you said you wanted to assess the field. The field change quite a bit. Where are you today?
PALIN: Still assessing the field because I know it is still going to change, the line-up. People are going to come and go before that legal deadline is imposed on us to have to make the decision. So, I’m still not ready to make an announcement.
“Weve seen and heard thousands of observations and analysis from Palin. Ive seen/heard basically nothing from Bachmann. What is it about her that gets her up in the Presidental Contender ranks? I just dont know.”
Tea Party. And she blew it by selecting Rollins. Maybe she is angling for a VP spot.
That is too funny, Rummyman! LOL I don’t think that Rollins ever had that much hair, however. Bob
