Rollins Wants Palin Allies for Bachmann (also wants Sarah as ally!)

Veteran Republican campaign strategist Ed Rollins, who signed on to steer Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's looming presidential bid, said his recent criticism of Sarah Palin is not part of an electoral strategy.

SNIP

But the former CNN contributor said he needs to adjust from "being a political analyst back to being a strategist."

"I don't think Palin runs and if she does we will deal with it. There obviously is a trend in the media to link them," Rollins told CNN. "In the long run we want Palin and her people as our allies."

In an interview with POLITICO, Rollins said the Bachmann campaign will be "so much more substantive."

"People are going to say, 'I gotta make a choice and go with the intelligent woman who's every bit as attractive,'" Rollins said.

Michele Bachmann has also hired Dick Morris. Morris approached Palin about working for her and she said no. Now Morris is on TV trashing Palin. Remember that Morris said McCain locked up the election by suspending his campaign.
I have always likes Michele until this and she will not disavow Rollins comments. Also interesting, Bachmann was also a proud Carter Mondale supporter. Look it up.
So heading into 2012 we have all these folks with a history of supporting loser democrats attacking Sarah Palin. That speaks loudly to me.

I don’t see how Palin ‘looks bad’ in this GOP elite crap at all...she hasn’t said a word about it and likely won’t. Michele has just imploded all by herself thanks to Rollins and her other establishment ‘advisors’.

Agreed.

Rollins has stepped into the barnyard droppings up to his eyeballs, IMO.

I was very intrigued by Bachmann & I thought she had a good future in Republican CONSERVATIVE politics.

Apparently, Rollins never heard of Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment: Do not speak ill of a fellow Republican.

Blowback because of Rollins comments & Backmann’s apparent lack of understanding how damaging he is being & not firing him immediately & making a statement to her supporters?...........:

I was planning on sending Sarah $20 out of my next FROZEN Soc Sec check.

I will now be sending MORE than that-—somehow—& I will not be supporting Bachmann in any way, shape or form at anytime in the future.

She has had a number of days/hours to get on top of this mess & she stayed quiet. She is now dead meat in this voter’s eyes.

Sarah actively campaigned for Michelle in the 2010 election & this is Sarah’s payback?????

Not what CONSERVATIVE voters are looking for.

Rollins can pound sand.

The RNC better NOT ask me for any donations, either. They won’t like my answer & I won’t be very polite or gentle in giving it..

If I were Bachmann I’d distance myself immediately from Rollins. The Tea Party stands for values and principles. If this is how Bachmann intends to win votes and influence people she might as well kiss the Tea Party goodbye.

If this is who she really is, she’s not who I thought she was at all. She should fire Rollins and hire a woman. The GOP needs to swing Oprah-esque fans their way. Rollins doesn’t get women and he obviously doesn’t know who the Tea Party is.

Palin needs to up her game if she wants to win overall.

I love Sarah and am telling it real. She needs to go into the vipers nests and tear these evil pofs a new one to get beyond where she is.

Look, my dream ticket it Palin/Bachmann, Pain/West, bachmann/west, or something like that, but the reality is that Sarah is not going to win if he election were tommorow.

I have yet to see ANY evidence Palin intends to run and that includes the wishfull thinking of her supporters.

I love sarah, but Bachmann is more battle ready than Sarah is.

I talk to a lt of people and Bachmann gets a lot more cred than Palin does. Bachmann is hardcore and never hides, goes into the fire and always fights it out.

*********************************

I guess that's why she sent Rollins out to do her dirty work and we still haven't heard a peep out of her.

Is that what you mean by "never hides"?

I watched Michelle Bachman with interest while she dithered an dallied about whether she would get in this race. She took her time to get it right....so is Ed Rollins REALLY they direction she wants to go? She lost me when she took a turn a cat fight with Sarah. Who’s prettier? What a shallow man that Rollins is. How stupid can Michelle be to choose him.

"People are going to say, 'I gotta make a choice and go with the intelligent woman who's every bit as attractive,'" Rollins said.

A seriously creepy thing to say.

Sarah also has millions upon millions of us “little Davids” just waiting for her to give to word “GO!”.”””

Don’t forget all us “Mama Grizzlies”!!!!

Women don’t have to actually be ‘Mamas’ to have a supportive attitude toward Sarah. I still am a “Mama” to my horses & dogs.

Well said...you can put me and my family firmly in the snarling wolves and grizzlie’s camp...lol! I’ve had enough of their shenanigans over the decades. Look at the state of our republic for heaven’s sake! This time they are gonna either get on OUR bandwagon or watch the train go off the tracks. I have watched them blackmail us with weak rino candidates for years with the same old ‘strategy’..either vote for our milk toast guy or the dems win...blahblahblah!

NOT THIS TIME!! NOT AGAIN! If Obama gets re-elected..IT’S THEIR FAULT!!

I was interested in Mrs. Bachmann initially because of her fighting spirit. As I began to observe her more closely I (think) I began to see where her reality didn't match her rhetoric. The more I see of her the less impressed I become. The opposite has been true of Governor Palin.

I agree. I can’t imagine any scenario now where I’d support Bachmann. Why she would allow and endorse Rollins attacking Palin as ‘stupid but pretty’ is beyond me. I thought Bachmann had more class than that. I donated to her last campaign but all future mailings from her will be ‘returned to sender.’ I’ll add this to the envelope: “Hey Ed Rollins: PALIN 2012”

Appoint MB to post as liason to Upper/Outer Siberia & Mongolia would suit me just fine.

Bury her in a country that is even colder than Minnesota.

I had an old, savvy and eminently decent criminal defense attorney explain it to me one time. Yes - am eminently decent criminal defense attorney. The concept was simple:

“You fight your case, not the man.”

He meant that you attack the evidence, you are ruthless in your logic, you have no mercy on weak or inane theories or suppositions. You do not denigrate, insult and outrage the opposing attorney or witnesses or parties.

You fight the case.

In -that- sense, a vigorous contest between conservative candidates would be useful, productive and exciting. It would in fact have the potential to build the conservative base.

But here, the MB camp is not fighting their case, the are fighting the man, in this instance the woman. Bad move, and MB just lost this juror. Yes, put me in the “done with Representative Bachmann (R)” column.

To draw an analogy from scripture “If you cannot stand against the Hensarling, what shall you do when the Palin comes?” Order the flowers early, shuggah. Michelle Bachmann’s political funeral is now certain.

Hey, even Ray Charles could see it and he is.....

and

2) dead

I got 20 bucks that says mcromney already has picked bachmann for the VP slot....and she accepted...therefore, the goal is to destroy the competition...and there is only 1 serious competitor, only 1 roadblock standing in his way....sarah.
