Israel News Agency

Hartford, CT ---- June 7, 2011 .... The Hartford PR SEO Social Media Marketing Group has announced that it will be attending the CT Business Expo in Hartford, Connecticut on June 9.

HartfordPr.co and HartfordSocialMedia.com have been providing Internet marketing, digital PR, SEO and social media services since 1995. The Leyden Digital PR, SEO, Social Media Group, which owns and operates HartfordPr.co and HartfordSocialMedia.com is credited for creating some of the first commercial, governmental and news Websites on the Web.

The Leyden Digital PR, SEO, Social Media Group, which has consulted the US State Department and the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has recently opened an office in the Greater Hartford Area serving Hartford, West Hartford, Avon, Farmington, Newington, South Windsor, Manchester, Simsbury, Vernon, Middletown, Stamford, New Haven and Springfield, Mass.

"The Hartford PR, SEO, Social Media Group has online professional marketing experience since 1995," says CEO Joel Leyden.

"We are pioneers in social media, reputation management and optimizing content for Google, Google News, AOL, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. We have created hundreds of Websites which attract millions of B2B and B2C on a daily basis. We know what works and what does not work. We practically invented the term integrated marketing where we coordinate offline PR, branding and advertising activities and make them sing on the Net or what is referred to as Web 2.0 and Web 3.0."

Joel Leyden, who has been interviewed by TIME, CNN, FOX, New York Times, Washington Post and several other respected national and international media for his social and new media work, has thousands of followers on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. The Leyden Communications Group's many Websites include SocialMediaPioneer.com, IntegratedMarketingProfessional.com and ReputationManagementPR.com.

"We see the CT Business Expo as an exciting opportunity to create awareness from those from Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts as to how to use social media, e-commerce and SEO to generate sales leads and secure greater ROI from corporate, governmental and non-profit marketing budgets," says Leyden.

"We realize that many consumers do not know the right questions to ask when it comes to hiring an e-commerce, social media or Internet marketing company and as such get burned by dishonest social media and SEO companies that promise the world. We suggest that these consumers ask a few informed questions when hiring a social media company. How many years have you been in business? What is your knowledge of journalism, classic PR and advertising? Can you provide examples of your work? And lastly, how many friends do you have on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn?"

The Connecticut Business Expo provides an unmatched opportunity for the local business community to meet and develop strategic partnerships with thousands of CT Expo attendees all under one roof for one day a year. In doing so they maximize their business exposure in the market, build new business relationships, generate significant new leads with hard to reach business decision makers, introduce new products to the marketplace, gain valuable insights on maximizing business sales, efficiency, team building and motivation, network with B2B and consumer product vendors and are invited to take part in free educational training seminars.

Whether these companies specialize in insurance, real estate, food, retail or manufacturing, they will all learn a bit more from the CT Business Expo.

"Thanks to Comcast Business Class, this years CT Business Expo, June 9, 2011, at Hartford's Connecticut Convention Center will be one of the best ever," says Hartford PR SEO Social Media Senior VP Joyce Boncal.

"With over 200 exhibitors and more than 5,000 expected attendees, the excitement will be spread quickly. The seminars, always well attended, are given by experts and cover numerous subjects of interest to business people from 'Cold Calling' to 'Mobile Technology.' Business owners, from solopreneurs to large corporations attend the Expo. The show has something for everyone offering everything from authors, networking and exhibitors to a Show Floor Theater."

Sponsors of the CT Business Expo are Cox Business, First Niagra, Pro Systems, Greater Hartford Arts Council, Jobs Connecticut Now, Peter Pan Bus Lines, Joseph Merritt and Co, U. of Hartford, Network Imaging, NBC Connecticut, and WDRC.

I looked at the website for the expo, but it’s hard to discern any coherent reason to go. Lots of nebulous, high-level “businessy” things, but not a lot of concrete content as far as I can tell. What am I missing?

SEO = Search Engine Optimization.

Programming Web content so that the search engines (Google, Yahoo, AOL, BING) will find it and place it in a higher position when you search for news, a product or service.

If you come to the CT Business Expo - we will show you how it works! ;>

I see the attraction for exhibitors.

I'm less certain that I see the attraction for attendees.

Take the case of a person (such as me) looking for employment or a gig as an independent contractor. For example, I have decent skills in areas such as product and software development, electronics, writing, photography, business consulting and analytical reasoning. I need to find a source of income that would be a good match for those skills.

Perhaps I could use the expo as an informal source of leads, but unless I missed it there doesn't seem to be any formalized venue for accomplishing that. So, that's little different from any trade fair or convention, other than the fact that in this case the attendees are overwhelmingly likely to be from Connecticut (but without any other unifying theme or rationale).

I do know the value of generalized networking, so I'm not disputing that, rather I'm trying to figure out whether there's any compelling reason for me to drive up to Hartford tomorrow as opposed to pursuing other alternatives...

What does SEO mean?

As noted, search engine optimization. There's two basic forms of SEO, which are wildly different. The first (legitimate) form is designing web pages and sites in a manner to make the site score high on search engine results for relevant keywords.

The non-reputable type is to go to message boards, comments sections, etc., and seed them with unrelated links designed to increase a sites popularity in search engines, regardless of the context. As a board admin of another site, I have to delete half a dozen users a day plus double that in registered but unvalidated accounts, who engage in just such activity. And that's with aggressive IP blocking for repeat offenders. Oddly enough, about 10% of these spammers are spamming SEO services.
