The dirty trick that launched Anthony Weiner's career
salon ^ | 6/7/11 | Steve Kornacki

You can certainly make a compelling case that Anthony Weiner should not have to give up his seat in Congress or his career in elected politics because of the online photo scandal that has engulfed him this week. But if this does end up being the end for Weiner's public career, it might not be quite the injustice it seems like -- at least if you know how his career began.

The sharp knives in the Democratic Party are out. Weiner is toast.

Fool should have changed his name years ago.

He was going to, but Savage was taken.

I'm surprise you haven't touched on the legal aspects, such as whether any charges will stand up in court, when he will submit a brief, and the magic word "subpoena."

Cheers!

So the bottom line is that this self serving pile of excrement lied to get elected and the absolutely stupid voters in his district rewarded him so they are the enablers of depravity. We can only assume they would vote for Satan himself if he ran. Can you imagine how proud they are that the man they elected to represent them put his own lust and filthy lewdness above his respect for them? Sad to say, since they are Democrats, they applaud and support the moral degradation this worthless human being represents and will no doubt reelect him by a larger majority. This will be their seal of approval for the continued moral debasement of our nation. I guess Rush is right: this is a resume enhancement for Democrats.

It can only be the end of his career if he quits. His constituency believes that all forms of sexual immorality are proofs of his good character and worthiness to advance the socialist project.

Is it unfair if he loses his political future because of a scandal as dumb as this one?

Absolutely not.
This author Kornacki is a real creep.

Seen this one yet?

After a week of facing questions about lewd Twitter photos, Rep. Anthony
Weiner Saturday had more explaining to do: why his Nissan Pathfinder has
New York license plates but a 2007 registration sticker.

Weiner has always been scum and I knew that before this scandal and before reading this story. Trump is right, Weiner is a psycho.

You are correct, yet the only reason Salon and other lib media is ready to throw him under the bus... methinks.... Hillary connection. Tarnish her friends and tarnish her. This is Obie warning Hillary not to screw with him in the upcoming election - and Obie has the complete and total support of the fawning media.

This a fascinating story.
After reading it, I saw clearly the slimy hand of Barbara Boxer in the sordid affair. That's exactly how she won elections when she was on the Board of Supervisors in Marin County California, her stepping stone to national politics.

Except she didn't do it just once; she did it every time. At the last moment dirt would surface somehow on her opponents, and totally anonymously.

She had grand hopes of continuing her games on a national level.
I have so much enjoyed seeing her party keeping her in the political attic like the mad aunt of the family for her entire congressional career.

But I am certain that she has advised Weiner, among others on the art of dirty politics.

It really bothers me the MSM keeps portraying this as “dumb” or “insignificant”. Weiner lied, repeatedly to the media, his constituents and America. On top of that, he tried to paint Breitbart as having done something underhanded to discredit him.

Dirty little trickster. Article says he had leaflets anonymously distributed, a few weeks after the Crown Heights race riots, which linked his opponent with Jesse Jackson and David Dinkins.

When a liberal Democrat from NY looses the support of Salon...well, it looks bad careerwise. Real bad.

Indeed. It's an indication that his fellow Lefties now consider him to be a liability going in to 2012. They can't deal with too many liabilities in 2012.

Weiner as Schumer’s protege. Span of evil.

Two of the most contemptible sleazy people in politics.

...insinuating closeness between his opponent and Dinkins and J. Jackson.

I'm not familiar with the specifics of this, but there's at least a possibility that Weiner may have been correct on the closeness between his Dem primary opponent and Dinkins and Jackson.

It's also possible that the erstwhile opponent, now seeing Weiner in a vulnerable position, contacted Salon to do a story about this incident from 20 years ago. Some people, especially lefties, hold grudges.

Of course, I'm not a fan of Weiner at all, but I'm just trying to see this from a different angle.
