Could you see a Romney '12 sign in your yard or sticker on your car?

Posted on 06/07/2011 8:01:36 AM PDT by Sybeck1

I remember when I put a McCain sticker on the car and the sign went up in the yard. It was October of 08. It took of course him picking Sarah as his VP spot. (I remember just before that the buzz was Joe Lieberman was going to be the one).

Now as I write Romney is in the lead of our pack. He of course is not the conservative favorite. Right not he has three strikes against him and they are big. Romneycare which was the model of Obamacare. Ethanol which is just the same old crony ways. And just last week he stated he believed in the Global Warming Hoax. So now our possible saviour is against us.

Knowing this could you see a Romney '12 sign in your yard or sticker on your car? That is a public statement, and not just simply going to the polls to vote against the One.

I for one can't see a sign placed in my yard or bumpersticker on my vehicle, no matter who is one the ticket with him.

No one will be allowed to campaign for Romney on FR. We WILL vote for either a Tea Party pick or support a write in. Have you NOT heard what Jim has said? I agree with him 100%. Romney is Obama lite. McCain was a Rino. How’d THAT work out eh?

I have always though that Mccain is vastly overrated. You can only ride POW line so far, then it means nothing. I had read that other POW’s in the Hanoi Hilton didn’t like him either....He stayed and gets his props for that, after coming home and being a liberal republican undid his actions. He didn’t put American first and the media liked him too much. They covered for him until he was a presidental candidate..Sometimes you can judge a politicans character by who his friends are and who his enemies are..

"Now, remember! Make sure you've got enough trolls on FreeRepublic, and post lots of things to scare everyone away from staying home when I'm the nominee! Here's an idea: put a nice, neutral question out there, like 'Can you imagine a Romney For President sticker on your car?' That'll ease them into liking the idea!"

"And don't worry about money. George says he's willing to fund whatever it takes!"

Sure, if there's some person named Romney other than Mitt, who's conservative & running for office.

If you really think there is as substantial difference between Romney and Obama then I’d like to hear your explanation, because I just don’t see it.

Did I ever say there was a substantial difference? I simply said there is a difference.

They both will appoint liberal justices - they both will champion liberal causes (abortion, gay rights, global warming, higher taxes, etc.) - they both will be weak on foreign policy...the list goes on and on.

I simply don't see Romney doing that at the same level as Obama has. He's not a conservative, but he's simply not as bad as Obama.

Once again, I'm not in favor of Romney. I just refuse to waste my vote on a "protest" when we need Obama out of there so badly.

By the way, if there is a truly viable conservative third party candidate in the general election, I would certainly vote for him/her. But I won't waste my vote on a "protest".

That is one of the things that really irks me about the idea of Romney being the republican nominee. If you think McCain is bad just wait for Romney.

He can’t run on being against Obamacare; he can’t run on being against crap and tax. What exactly can he run on, jobs and the economy? Obama will obliterate him calling him a member of the very Wall Street class that he says has caused all this economic misery. Romney will become the poster boy for all the economic problems and coincidentally all republicans will become the reason for the bad economy.

What will Romney say in his defense? Hardly anything. Worse than Al Gore, he’ll stand there stiff as a board and try to use powerpoint to explain everything away. The media will laugh their rear ends off and point out how this is all the “republicans” have done for the entire time Obama has been in office. And since George Bush was the cause of it, why are we picking on the black president?

Once again Romney will not be able to defend himself because the MSM will trot out the Book of Mormon and all the racist writings within it and any racist statement that has ever been made by every Mormon prophet that they can find. Mitt Romney fits right into their narrative. Mitt will be used to prove once and for all that republicans are not to be trusted. Republicans will be depicted as racists, who hate the poor and the working class, and only support the wealthy and their crony friends. The MSM will assure their viewers that “republicans” (exemplified by Mitt Romney) want to destroy the unions and people just trying to get ahead.

Never mind that it is Obama who has destroyed the economy with his spend thrift policies, who uses cronyism, and whose thugs in the unions are trying to keep the little people down. The MSM will never say anything like that. Mitt will spend his time apologizing and trying to get Christians to vote for him while complaining about his Mormonism costing the election when its really his socialism that turns people off.

If Mitt gets the nomination, it will be a disaster.

What Waryone is telling you is that Romney can’t win. The press is pushing Romney because he’s a loser.

I guess your comprehension is lacking so let me make this absolutely clear for you.

Nominating Romney = 4 more years of Obama

Romney is the exact type Obama wants to run against. He is the perfect candidate to support and enliven the liberal narrative. He has no weapons to use against Obama having fewer points of disagreement than other republican candidates, and a big fat “race card” hanging over his head which is the dems absolute favorite weapon of choice. By hook or by crook (cough* foreign “Soros” sources *cough), Obama is going to get the billion dollars he wants for his campaign so Mitt has no money advantage. His thugs will be beating people over the head while his Dept of Justice looks the other way. Knowing Mitt is an uninspiring dem lite, unenthusiastic conservatives will turn away from him in droves.

All I see when I look at Mitt is four more years of Obama.

Would a Romney sign in my front yard keep the bicycle missionaries away from the house, or just attract more?

A Santorum sign would be more effective. The bicycle boys tend not to bother Roman Catholics.

I don’t do yard signs or bumper stickers (of any kind) , but if he were the nominee, I’d vote for him.

Can't see ever hitting his name on a ballot, either.

I won't do it, no matter what.

I said in 2007 that I would never vote for Rudy Guiliani or John McCain, and don't make statements like that lightly. Much deliberation went into that decision.

Here today, I can go on the record that I will never vote for Mitt Romney. Naming a nifty running mate will do nothing to change my mind, nor will it make him any more acceptable to me.

The republican establishment, the tolerated primary system, and the good ol' boy 'next in line' practices can kiss my lily white butt. My core principles will not be compromised.

Nothing remotely related to Mittens will be on anything of mine until:
1. Hell has frozen over.
2. The freeze is a solid one.
3. Said hard freeze has been reliably verified.

Then, I may consider Mittens.

Maybe.

Or maybe not.

Romney told Sean Hannity last week that the first thing he would do as President is to repeal Obamacare. Perhaps what happened in Massachusetts made him realize that socialized healthcare doesn’t work.
