Rep. Anthony Weiner a no-show at New York City Israel Day parade amid Twitter photo scandal

Rep. Anthony Weiner ditched the Israel Day parade for the first time in years as the ballooning boxer brouhaha continues to dog him.

Several of his fellow Democrats and political rivals questioned why the congressman was nowhere to be seen.

"It has become a huge distraction," said former city Controller William Thompson Jr., a likely Democratic mayoral contender.

"It has become a circus. Every answer raises another question."

U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) said Weiner should have attended the parade up Fifth Ave.

"I'd like to see him here," he told reporters before marching. "He cares about Israel and \[is\] very active in the Jewish community and he ought to be here."

Weiner, who also has his eye on Gracie Mansion, has said he didn't sent a lewd photograph of bulging briefs to a 21-year-old college student from his Twitter account last Friday.

So Huma will swallow hard and suck it up

I seriously doubt it, and watch your language, this is a family forum. :)

Yours is the first post of reason to this thread. He is damaged beyond repair and all except Weiner know it. I hope he fights to keep his seat. A slow death. Maybe Huma can go public supporting him (not likely). He is the poster boy of all that is wrong with our government and all should be reminded of the self serving dirtbags who rule us.

As for Weiner, does anyone really think that a guy who is married to an Arab woman with whom he is trying to mend fences would go to a pro-Israel event?

Most emphatically "yes." I've lived in the NY area the past few years, and Weiner has showed up at maybe 6 or 7 Jewish events I've been at, largely Shabbat dinners and pro-Israel events. He always comes in and gives a 10 minute shpeel telling the audience exactly what it wants to hear. At the "Shabbat Dinner Circuit" he does (i.e., goes from meal to meal) he pops in for 10-15 minutes, feigns devotion to Shabbat and Judaism, then leaves for his next engagement. At pro-Israel functions, he invariably shows up and throws off harmless pro-Israel platitudes to feed the sheeple. His absence today is most surprising.

Pelosi, an ardent feminist, played a significant role in pushing for more information in a scandal that ultimately led to the resignation of Republican Rep. Mark Foley. For those who don’t remember, Pelosi swept into the Speaker’s office after making calls for an investigation into messages that Foley was sending to Capitol Hill pages. “Toward midnight, Ms. Pelosi took the floor. ‘As a mother and grandmother and the leader of the House Democrats,’ she began, demanding an investigation into what House leaders knew about the Foley messages,” the New York Times’s Kate Zernike wrote on Nov. 9, 2006. “Republicans booed, a rarity even in the raucous House chamber. She pressed on, however, smiling her unbudging smile.”

You’d think this to be a good thing to have a disgraced Democrat stay in office

Most definitely but isn’t the term ‘disgraced Democrat’ a great example of an oxymoron?

There seem to have been a greater number of 'Rat bigwigs yesterday than in in the last few years, so the parade got bigger coverage from the local MSM. The local MSM, in turn, was fixated on the "Where is Weiner?" story, almost as if you couldn't hold the darn event without Weiner in attendance.

Why were the likes of Schumer, Gillebrand, and Lautenberg there when they surely haven't been "regulars" in the past? Probably they sensed that the 'Rats were in trouble with Jewish voters on the heels of "Osama" Obama's "'67 borders" speech.

The RJC has gotten a warm round of applause in past years when the name "Republican Jewish Coalition" was announced over loudspeakers to the onlookers. I can't speak for yesterday because I have no personal info.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if Herman Cain's speech would get any media attention at all. What did he speak about?

Former ACLU Member’s RULE FOR DEMOCRAT PARTY SPOKESPERSONS:

The more hateful, dishonest, vicious, totalitarian, and grandiose that a democrat party spokesperson is, the more anti-social behavior they are hiding.

Corollary: The more severe the criminal behavior that the democrat party spokesperson is accused of, the more they wrap themselves in overt Marxism.
