More than a dozen young men attacked a person Saturday night outside a building on Northwestern University's downtown campus in the Streeterville neighborhood, according to an alert issued by the university. Seven people thought to be part of that group, mostly youths, were arrested on "mob action charges" when Chicago police and Northwestern police responded, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer. About 8:30 p.m., the victim had parked his motor scooter outside the building on Chicago Avenue, a little west of Lake Shore Drive, when about 15 to 20 males -- believed to be in their mid-to-late teens -- approached him, according to the alert, which categorized the incident as an attempted robbery. One of the males in that group threw a baseball at the victim's face and knocked him to the ground, the alert stated.

As a matter of fact, yes. I wonder about the elections. My husband and I have had serious conversations about keeping the two kids out of school the day after them. Haven’t yet decided but there is a concern.
On Saturday June 4, 2011, at approximately 8:26 p.m., a male not affiliated with Northwestern was the victim of an attempted robbery in Chicago. The victim had parked his motor scooter on the north side of Chicago Avenue across from Wieboldt Hall (300 block) when approximately 15 to 20 male African Americans, all approximately 16 to 20 years old, approached him. One of the subjects threw a baseball at the face of the victim and knocked him to the ground. Several others from the group punched and hit him several times. The victim tried to protect himself and fought back. The subjects eventually fled eastbound toward the lake. Chicago Police and Northwestern University Police responded, and Chicago Police later arrested three members believed to be part of the group on mob action charges. The victim was treated on the scene by Chicago Fire Department paramedics. No proceeds were taken from the victim. The victim could not provide descriptions of the multiple subjects involved.The man fought 'em off. Good for him!
We play a game in the office called guess that race or ethnicity whenever there is a flash mob story or a report of brutally weird goings on.

What disturbs me the most, is the fact the police and the media are doing their best to hide what’s going on. It’s like a modern day “emperor’s new clothes”, where everyone is afraid to speak the truth.

It has gotten so bizarre that the “media” will ask anyone with information about a crime to call an 800 number, after only giving the height, weight, clothing description, and facial hair status of a perp.
