Two snippets of counsel offered to the Israeli marksmen, gratis:

1.) Bullets are relatively inexpensive. Don't be afraid to keep firing.

2.) Do try to avoid the hairy, hooved targets with large humps on their backs. Most of them are innocent brides, pressed unwillingly into service.

Israel is getting tired of playing silly games.

I wish we had several hundred Israeli’s on our own border.

It’s time we stopped Mexicans and terrorists from walking across like the border wasn’t there.

Well, the Israelis are “occupying” the Golan Heights as they are taking up space there.
But as far as the Golan Heights being “occupied” that assumption is false.Almost all of the earth's real estate has been taken by the strong from the weak through conquest—there is no “occupation” as such because the land is won fair and square according to the well and long established rules of human realities.
If you lose a battle and with it some property you can whine all you want about how unfair it is and,if you still live in a free country, you can even insult those who whooped your sorry butts.
Israel should never have given up ANY of the land they conquered during the 6 Day War.
Such weakness is coming back to haunt them now.

Lord Rothschild bought the Golan Heights from the Ottoman Empire as the beginning of a New Israel.

The territory is not part of modern Syria.

Having a title to it doesn't mean the Israelis won't have to defend it though.

Israel should not give up one square inch for “peace”. There will never be peace with these people. They have no desire for peace - they never have.

Great read!

http://www.ourjerusalem.com/opinion/story/on-my-mind-the-golan-heights-bought-by-baron-rothschild-100-years-ago.html

“...When the Baron died in 1934, 80,000 dunam on the Golan were owned by the
Rothschild company, PICA (Palestine Jewish Colonization Association). The
land had been registered in the name of PICA in 1929. The Syrian government
- Syria was then practically a French colony – tried in the 1940s to
confiscate the land but failed. In 1957, the son of Baron Edmonde, Baron
James de Rothschild (1878 – 1957), as one of his last acts in his life,
transferred the deeds to the Jewish National Fund (Keren Kayemet) and from
there to the Land Office of Israel. All deeds and other documents were
transferred to Israel’s Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs...”

The Spanish Empire under Philip III once upon a time gave up land for peace through the mechanism of the London Treaty (1604).

See what happened to them ~ 25 years of peace and then finally the total destruction of the Empire at the hands of rebellious insurgents!

Today we think of Spain as a small country, far away in Europe. Yet, a mere 4 centuries ago Spain was right here where I sit.

I read the linked article. Accordingly, “several hundred” demonstrators, etc., etc. As per the article, four killed, several injured. In other words, the demonstrators turned tail pretty quickly.

A few of my Turkish friends always get a good chuckle about the seemingly enormous inbreeding problem vis-a-vis the Arab world (and to be fair, in rural Turkey as well, though to be fair, they’re intellectually honest enough to admit this). They point out that too much inbreeding leads to some pretty stupid folks over the long term. This serves as a case in point.

A friend of mine, Mustafa, said earlier today, “’In order to do a human-wave assault, which is maybe what they’re thinking about, you need a little more than several hundred. You need several hundered thousand - what a bunch of inbred hicks’”. Mustafa reckoned this was little more than a publicity stunt, his view being that they’re too stupid, not to mention cowardly, to successfully pull off a human-wave assault. As he also said, “’No great loss’”.

I always like to start my day with a good laugh. Thanks, Mustafa.

I am going to the Golan Heights tomorrow on a tour bus. Obviously we are not expecting problems; it wasn’t even on the the front page in the Tel-Aviv newspaper’s English edition.

If the Palestinians get their wish and go back to the 1967 lines do you really think you will get to see the Golan heights again.
