Just saw Sarah Palin on Hannity. When asked about Donald Trump possibly running as a Third Party Candidate, Sarah said that a year ago she would have resisted such an idea. But, the GOP has failed to do what the American people elected them to do (Repeal Obamacare, no budget passed, etc.) and if they "don't get their stuff together" there is going to be a Third Party rise up because the GOP has failed to do the job and give the people of America a sound message of their plan for America because they are so afraid of offending somebody.
When Sean Hannity asked if she would consider a Third Party run, she said she does not see that happening "right now". She said she hopes the GOP gets their act together.
If she can win 40% as a 3rd party against a Dem and Republican, why not just run as a Republican, win the nomination and have a shot at the 40% you think she'd get as an indie plus the GOP vote?
No, a 3rd party would be suicidal.
I love Palin. She has my support and I agree with her on almost every specific policy position. Saying that, this Trump and 3rd party stuff I can do without. Trump is a clown and we don't have the time to be goofing around with 3rd party's splitting the right of center vote.

Once the 3rd option is created, the damage is already done. Because no matter how hard you try to get people to go in one direction, the vote will end up split. The Dems still hate Nader because he managed to siphon off just enough to make a difference.
I would have no problem voting for Palin again...but only if she gets the Republican Party nomination.
And some will think back to that little Trump/Palin pizza get together and note that both Trump and Palin have both very recently declined to entirely rule out third party possibilities.
And as Trump said, no decision would have to be made until a year or more from now.

We in FR live in a bubble. All the public at large need to embrace a 3rd party is a good ad campaign with well-known and popular faces.
Most of the Repubs and indys in the real world out there are not anywhere near as hardcore about these issues as we are.
Trump gets the indys and mod-right (a kingmaker), Palin gets most of the conservatives (as a candidate), Add a guy like Alan West/Herman Cain as a #1 or 2 and Obama gets a free ride home.
Women,Moderates, Indys, Conservatives and many minorities...say nothing of many white men - A united party with the ability to dominate the political landscape.
Folks just as certain as you are now thought that Perot and a third party would win [for all the same reasons]. He did not because the Dem Machine made threats on his family and he dropped out. He then got back in but never rose to the heights he had been at because people thought of him as ‘a quitter’.
I’m not saying Sarah would quit under similar circumstances, but the Maxists are determined to keep their hold on America at any cost. If you think they have rigged elections in the past, just wait. Plus who knows what else they are capable of.

The Dem machine didn’t threaten Perot, he was always a phony, and only got back in when it looked like Bush might come back.

Circumstances were similar and people thought if ever there was a time a 3rd party could win it was when Ross Perot ran. Before you say it, I realize Perot is not Palin! Nonetheless, conservatives were just as rabid then to save the country.
I think your right. Most of us can not/will not vote for Romney.
If it’s Palin/Romney/Obama I think Obama and Romney would split their vote.
