A federal appeals court has lifted the order banning public prayer at a Texas high school graduation Saturday.
The reversal comes of the heels of increasing criticism of a federal judge's earlier ruling that agreed with the parents of one graduating student that religious expression during the ceremony at Medina Valley Independent School District would case "irreparable harm" to their son.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals thought differently, reversing the judge's ruling Friday and allowing students to say the words "amen" and invite the audience to pray during the ceremony.

Face saving for the judiciary. It’s not like the order was going to be respected.

The danger of these psychotic fascist judges is that their evil rulings will destroy any vestige of respect left for the Law. Enough of these, and the entire public square will be like a speakeasy during Prohibition.

The 5th Circuit is about as the federal judiciary gets.
Note that this is a relative assessment.

That's my guess as well, the original order threatening contempt of court charges for anybody who said as much as Amen, raised such a controversy, I've heard that thousands were lining up to violate it and dare the police to arrest them all.

Amazing how effective we are when we fight back. Hope people do it A LOT more often!
The lefties have gotten so used to a totally passive right wing that they just do whatever they want with no fear of repercussion.
This is a perfect example of how quickly that all the BS can end if only we stand up for what we believe in.

I would have supported the students open defiance of the origional decision.

I'd like to see and hear anyone try to explain to me how saying a prayer can possibly cause "irreparable harm".
Explain it to my face. In person. While I look them dead in the eyes.
(fricking idiots...sheesh!)

On matters of faith and morals Americans should simply ignore all court decisions, good and bad, and listen to their religion and their conscience.

allowing students to say the words "amen" and invite the audience to pray during the ceremony. "Amen" is one word, not "words'. What about the other words that were excluded by name? "In Jesus name".

This shows that taking action is what we need to do. Shout, write letters, demonstrations, appear en masse and if need be, civil disobedience. Silence and tolerance and patience and acceptance and hoping they’ll stop has gotten us to where we are today.
My tagline says what I think is the answer.
