on Goa I know more -- the Portuguese refused to give it up -- with some reason, they had ruled for 450 years and intermingled with the populace. In the end they defiantly said no, but they had no choice and no means to keep Goa. The Indian army just walked in.
Goa should have been Portugal’s lesson in demographics; the Indian population simply overwhelmed them. Instead, they’ve chosen to contract their numbers even further.
