Palin, Miller lead tea party assault on Romney
(06/02/11 10:23:27)
As former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney today officially announced his intention to seek the Republican presidential nomination, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and unsuccessful Alaska U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller countered with jabs suggesting Romney is too much of a moderate to satisfy tea party Republicans.
As RealClearPolitics and many other media outlets reported today, Palin -- whose "One Nation" bus tour was in Boston -- took a shot at the Romney-negotiated health care reform program in Massachusetts but denied she was trying to steal the spotlight from Romney, who made his announcement in first-primary state New Hampshire.

Meanwhile, the Joe Miller-led and Nevada-based Western Representation PAC launched a "Stop Romney" campaign today, reports ABC News:
"In a matchup against Obama, tea party voters are looking for a consistent constitutional conservative," Miller said in a statement. "We will never get behind Mitt Romney. On issues like gun rights, gay rights, abortion, immigration, and health care, Romney has flipped more than John Kerry flopped."
A new Public Policy Polling survey of Republican voters attitudes toward the announced and prospective GOP presidential nominees shows Romney and Palin leading, but each with just 16 percent of the vote.

Is this it?
Miller struck me as a disappointment. After securing the nomination, he couldn’t seem to mount any sort of media impression. He could have shaved his scruffy beard a few more times and got cameras to show up just by keeping the media looking for his various looks.
His few times on the radio didn’t seem to present a positive message but only to carp on the Rino hag that chose to be a spoiler.
Perhaps Alaskans saw something very different, but what looked like a good background and initial impression couldn’t be changed into a vibrant candidate, IMHO>
I hope people attack Romney from all quarters. He is just another moderate who would get destroyed as badly as that idiot McLame did. The GOP needs to run away from Mitt, even as the MSM builds him into our next “Meverick” savior for the primaries.
Sorry, the assault on Romney started a while ago...

joe miller sure turned out to be a loser.
This isn't a tea party vs. establishment issue, IMHO. A big part of the base has a big problem with Romney refusing to renounce Romneycare and in particular the individual mandate. This goes well beyond the tea party.
If Republicans keep shoving Romney down my throat , They are going to lose one Republican.
