WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) President Romney. How does that sound?
Better than President Gingrich, President Pawlenty or even President Palin? You betcha. Why? Because for all his flip-flopping and lack of charisma, Mitt Romney is a serious person an adult in todays political parlance with a real track record of accomplishment.
This week, Romney actually showed what any serious Republican hopeful in the 2012 presidential election campaign needs to show: the beginnings of a backbone.
It looks like Romney may have flipped his last flop on what is supposed to be the bane of his existence, the statewide health-care plan he signed into law when he was governor of Massachusetts.
In an interview with the Boston Globe, Romney refused to back down or recant, even though many members of the Republican Party now regard government-mandated health care as the devils own work.
Im proud of the fact we took on a real tough problem and moved the ball forward, Romney told the Globe. I know this is going to get a lot of conversation, but the health of the people in Massachusetts is more important to me than the health of my political prospects.

IF Mitt gets the Nod—I will vote for him over Obummer—but I will take a long hot shower after I vote. He may not stop the slide into Communism but he will slow it some—We must pin our hopes on keeping the house and Re-gaining the Senate. I don’t think this will happen. If Mitt gets the nomination it will be the end of the GOP and the Birth of a new Tea Party.
Go whine to him.
Those pukes are never going to stop us... outside of DC and wonks like us... no one even cares who they are. We will win because Reagan ran against these same elitists and a few that are no longer alive and it just made him more popular. Wear their criticism like a badge of honor.
