Could Trump Pull A Perot?
biggovernment.com ^ | Capitol Confidential

Trump has been telling friends that he would not rule out launching an Independent big for President as late as June of next year if the economy is still sour and no Republican has demonstrated the ability to defeat Obama.

(snip)

A full blown candidacy by Sarah Palin would make a Trump bid improbable if she wins the GOP nod. If Palin were to run for the nomination and lose to a Romney or Pawlenty, a Trump candidacy would be likely. Trump is known to have a high regard for Palin and said so yesterday.

Trump is a blowhard.

He’s enjoying all the free attention right now.

Jerome Corsi thinks Trump was actually working with Obama. Trump phoned into the Fox and her friends this morning to rag on Paul Ryan again. He is not to be trusted at all.

Trump is beginning to resemble the proverbial ant floating down the river on a leaf while masturbating and yelling: “Open the drawbridge!”

Who says he’s not there to attack Obozo and have the added benefit of giving the ‘crease in the pants’ Republicans someone else other then O’Bummer to vote for?

If Palin (a conservative) wins the nomination, she’ll get the largest voting block out there, which is conservatives. She’ll also get the folks who always vote Republican no matter what. It’s the ‘moderates’ who are the problem. They’re a small block of voters, but they’re loud and they cause trouble for conservatives. If there is a 3rd party in the race to split the ‘moderate’ vote, the conservative wins.

Our side gets hurt by a 3rd party when there is an ideological problem with the Republican candidate, which breaks our voter coalition. Not so with Palin. People who don’t like her are voting on personality or they don’t like conservatives.

Look at Florida 2010 for a model on how this would play out.

I think that has been the plan from day one.
The birth certificate problem disappeared after trump called for it and 0bama faked another one.0bama could not afford to ignore the people pushing the story or give in to a legal demand that he produce it because he knew it wouldn’t pass the smell test.
Now trump runs and takes away repub votes ..0bama wins.

Trump’s number one concern is Trump.

If it benefits him, then yes he could.

Trump is a rabid dog. You enjoy watching him bite your enemy however you quickly forget that he has no loyalty and will bite you too.

I find it offensive that Trump thinks he is some sort of reasonable arbiter of which “Republican can (or cannot) beat Obama.” It’s kind of ridiculous to think about running as someone who is outside the pundit class - but you are basing your entire decision on your own ability to be a pundit.

Besides, he is philosophically a long way from Palin. Trump is no conservative. It makes no sense that he would base his decision to run a moderate campaign or not based on the status of a conservative in the GOP field.

Unless he's been working with her all along. And unless he would only run if his run would hurt Odingoatemybaby and not Palin. Then, it would make perfect sense.

I heard that interview. He said he will not rule out running as an independent. Any decision will come next May after the contract with NBC for celebrity apprentice expires. Trump works for Trump, period.

I think all this action is terrific. Palin, Trump, West, Cain, Bachman, Perry, Christie, etc. says one thing, the “rogues” in the Republican Party are stirring the pot big time. They know Obama is toast!!! So do the RINOs POTUS wannabe candidates. The Media best get wise cause with each passing day they look more and more like the morons and buffoons they are.

Trump is a clown. Yes, if he ran indie he could siphon off some of the anti-Hussein vote and make sure Obama won in 2012. There really are probably around 5% of the right of center population that are just dunderheads and would gleefully flush their vote down the crapper.

There is no scenario in which liberals or Democrats would vote for Trump - especially after he pushed the birther stuff. The only impact a Trump 3rd party bid would have would be to help Obama stay in office.

“Oh please no, can’t take another 4 years of Obummer “

Actual conversation with a young engineer that worked for me at the time.

YE - “Well, I sent ‘em a message, I voted for Ross”

ME - “no, you voted for Clinton”

YE - “ oh hell no, I’d never vote for that idiot”

Approximately 7:45 the next morning

YE - “well they ought to let us go back and vote over”

ME - 2011 - Please Lord, not again.

That’s a stretch. A real stretch. I wouldn’t mind that at all, but I just don’t see Trump seeing himself as anyone’s pawn. There is a lot more in his background that indicates a friendship with pro Obama types versus anything in his background that indicates an affinity towards Palin or those predisposed to like her. I just don’t see that at all.

He’s not being a pawn. He’s ‘doing a deal’.

Both Palin and Trump have said that they know and like each other. They both have/had television shows from the same production company. He never attacks her, even though it would be easy as hell for him to do it.

Did you see the look on his face when Obama was insulting him? He’s NO friend of Obama’s.

Yeah, just like there’s no scenario where Dems/libs will vote for Charlie Crist over Kendrick Meeks.

How’s Senator Meeks doing these days?

Meek not Meeks. Leland Meeks was the guy from L.A. Confidential. Next time, I’ll probably be talking about Senator Rollo Tomassi or something.
