I am not on the sherriff’s side on this, but it is good strategy to not keep illegal property on your property.
You keep it in storage.
Then they should have known about the storage unit and raided it.

How do you define “illegal property” and what the ‘FORK’ are you talking about?
Storage is still on your property. You are straining very hard to excuse this, you must wear a badge. Even if Jose was guilty of something, killing him is an epic failure of law enforcement. Killing an innocent man, not getting him medical attention, covering your ass afterwards, and letting his 4 year old son step around the body, is beyond disgraceful in toto.
There was NOTHING illegal found.
