A month or so ago, 114 of them signed a letter to Boehner demanding that the vote be taken without being linked to anything else. They got their wish. It looks like over 80 Dems voted with the Reps.
So if there is a Financial Doomsday, as many democrats and liberal financial wags were saying, they can’t pin it on the Republicans.

Even RATS can see the writing on the wall.
SQUEEK SQUEEK SQUEEK !!!!
“A month or so ago, 114 of them signed a letter to Boehner demanding that the vote be taken without being linked to anything else.”
And from the article: “The vote Tuesday was 97-318 . . .”
Which means that at least 7 of the jerk-offs who demanded that action voted against the very policy they worked to force to a decision!
“huh...what clear message?”
The clear message that Boehner’s GOP is going to look tough and have little to no effect. You know, the one that promised 100 billion in cuts and got zilch.
If they wanted real cuts, they’d demand a balanced budget amendment that required a balanced budget each year, or annual 10% cuts for ALL federal budget line items across the board, using the 2000 budget as the baseline, if a balanced budget could not be agreed upon. Not a simple balanced budget amendment, which is what the libs want so they can have judges raise our taxes.
