Looks like Gov. Perry has something specific in mind... and he is not worried about a veto.
“rather than waiting the traditional period of 30 days before doing so.”
If the Republicans won’t grow a set and do what needs to be done NOW,
30 days of waiting won’t make any difference!
(Another 30 days would just be more time for the liberal establishment to push their “we’re not progressive enough” BS)
Will they take up the sanctuary city bill HB12 again?
If I understand it correctly, some Den Senator filibustered education spending for next year. They either had to call a special session, or no school funding for next year.
Once called however, the Gov gets to set the agenda. It’s one of the few strong powers of the Tx Gov.
Seems like a political miscalculation for the dems to force Perry’s hand on a special session.
He wants to get done what he wants done then break to announce a run for President? He mentioned on one of the interviews, I forget which one, that he didnt have time to think about it or decide until this session was over.
he’s running....bet on it.....
it was obvious before this when he signed the picture id voter bill and then the preabortion sonogram bill.....
