LONDON An international panel of experts says cellphones are possibly carcinogenic to humans after reviewing details from dozens of published studies.
The statement was issued in Lyon, France, on Tuesday by the International Agency for Research on Cancer after a weeklong meeting of experts. They reviewed possible links between cancer and the type of electromagnetic radiation found in cellphones, microwaves and radar.
The agency is the cancer arm of the World Health Organization and the assessment now goes to WHO and national health agencies for possible guidance on cellphone use.
The group classified cellphones in category 2B, meaning they are possibly carcinogenic to humans. Other substances in that category include the pesticide DDT and gasoline engine exhaust.
Last year, results of a large study found no clear link between cellphones and cancer. But some advocacy groups contend the study raised serious concerns because it showed a hint of a possible connection between very heavy phone use and glioma, a rare but often deadly form of brain tumor. However, the numbers in that subgroup weren't sufficient to make the case.

Life is carcinogenic.....
For some reason, I find it hard to imagine the human brain being designed to have rf energy transmitted from a device that rests on a persons ear, without some bad effect.
LOL.
And life causes death.
Especially bluetooth devices.
Your. Phones. R. Belong. To. Us.
Let’s not get our knickers in a twist here.
It’s coming from the U.N.
Ergo, noting, absolutely NOTHING can be believed.
We’re not talkin’ the top of the scientific brain trust here. For proof I humbly offer the UN’s sorry record on climate change - complete with falsified data coupled by math that only someone as stupid as Obama could compute.
if this is coming from the UN they must have also made some connection between cell phones and global warming
If only we’d bring back that nasty carcinogen DDT! We’d save literally hundreds of millions of lives. We’d also be able to fight the infestation of bedbugs that will eventually be in each and every home in the US.
And lets not forget the extremely inexpensive and useful coolant freon, banned coincidentally the moment the patent expired. Another life saving tool out the window thanks to the Greenies that hate mankind, because we remind them of the Creator of course.
What's carcinogenic is Paris traffic, sitting there breathing fumes from cars that don't have catalytic converters or the zillions of diesels rattling next to you.
And as far as being dead, some French female will run into you while talking on her phone long before the cancer gets you.
What about all of the microwaves zapping around in the air from all the people using cellphones. Are we screwed even if we don’t have one stuck to our ear all the time?
Uh, I think that ya have to smoke them.....
I am a scientist at a medical school. Anytime I see “international panel of experts”, “World Health Organization” and especially - - “results of a large study found no clear link between cellphones and cancer. But some advocacy groups...,” I know immediately we are seeing “BS on a global scale!!!! - there is no new science, just more advocacy..> Probably Al Gore or the UN or Momar Obama or Rosie O’Donnell or ... (name your idiot here).
“if people didnt glue them to the side of their damned head.”
OK, I followed your advice. So now how do I get the damn thing off my head, the glue fumes are giving me a headache?
Heh...It’s always something...:)
Me? I am just going to keep drinking coffee and alcohol, eating meat, using a cellphone, applying insect repellent and taking ibuprofen.
If something is going to get me, it is going to get me. Sometimes I think the media gets a kick out of having people on an emotional leash that they jerk this way and that...one day coffee is bad, the next day, it is good. One day fat in your diet is bad, the next day it is good. I think I am just going to live life as I see fit to do, and screw all that stuff!
LOL! I am glad I didn’t have a drink halfway in my mouth when I read that!
I thought I had seen that once, and I was sure it must have been something else, and that it wasn’t that.! So they do that...interesting.

So, what if you only talk on it occasionally, say every three weeks or so?
