In predictable, yet despicable fashion, members of Westboro Baptist Church of Kansas are spreading their hate around for recent tornado victims. Fred Phelps and company have allegedly been trolling the Facebook pages of missing tornado victims, leaving hateful and taunting comments.
While most of those comments have been deleted, they have left family members and supporters shaken and angry. On Monday, when only 89 deaths had been confirmed, WBC posted a scathing and gleeful document on its website, celebrating the deaths as proof of God's anger over rampant homosexuality.
The most recent flier, dated May 25, begins by thanking God for the 125 victims of the Joplin tornado, and announcing that members will picket "beast anti-Christ Pres. Barack Obama & Gov. Jay Nixon, Sunday, May 29, in Joplin, MO."
Phelps's chortling, mocking announcement asserted that the recent spate of tremendous and deadly storms was God's vengeance on the sinful and relentless:
25 dead in Joplin; 13 dead overnight in OK, KS & AR; tornado season is just getting started; 503 dead in 2011 season so far. The media mobswho have a chief role in the great sins of this nationare aghast & overflowing with over-the-top breathless rhetoric about the epic nature of this mayhem. God's storms are breaking out all over, leaving you sleepless and in terror. Praise His Name!
The church's website has remained inaccessible for unknown reasons for the last several hours; however, a cached version of the offending PDF document can be found here.
Words can not describe the depths of hate this man feels for his fellow man. In a time of great tragedy, instead of offering words of wisdom and love, he insists on spreading hate. His targets have included Lantz Hare, 16, whose body was positively identified yesterday, and Tiera Whitley, who was confirmed dead today after having been found in the morgue. WBC also allegedly left comments on Facebook page Help Find Tami Moldenhauer-Campbell, who was confirmed dead today, as well.
Many victims of Missouri's single largest tornado in recorded history are still unaccounted for. One of those is Will Norton, who disappeared from his vehicle after the tornado pulled him out of his vehicle through the sunroof. The Missouri Department of Public Safety is asking friends and relatives to check its list to ensure anyone safe is not on the list. Some of those that were rescued remained on the list up until today.
This is the HTML version of the Westboro Baptist Church PDF document which was taken down:
I was able to access their PDF document entitled:
THANK GOD FOR 125 DEAD IN JOPLIN,
#WBC WILL PICKET BEAST ANTICHRIST
PRES. BARACK OBAMA & GOV. JAY NIXON

Will Norton, sadly, was found dead. These Westboro people are evil. They do not represent Christians in any respect whatsoever. One of these days someone will have had enough of them.
Hopefully the good people of Joplin, MO will do what the good people of Brandon, MS did when dealing with these punks.
They certainly have a right to free speech. Everyone does,.
But insnae people should be kept in an institution.
It is my contention that the whole bunch is insane and should be committed to keep them from harming themselves or others.

I think the “church” ( if you can call it that ) sole purpose of existence is to see how far their First Amendment Rights go.
These folks are no where near walking in the Spirit of God.
Hate and guilt and condemnation is not the way of the Son.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Hey Phelps, You’re doing it WRONG !!
Let’s see if these TURDS go to Joplin and I go and perforate ALL of them w/ my M-1 just where are they going to find an impartial jury in that county in Missouri to try me. The “Westboro Baptist Church” had better think about this before they go to Joplin. There are LOTS of people like me around.
What Westboro wants is for someone to act out so they can sue and get paid. That has been a pattern for them for a long time. The clan is loaded with lawyers and they know how to play the system.
Maybe everybody in the country should send these freaks a preemptive “cease and desist” letter so that if they ever communicate with us personally in any way we can slap them with harassment charges.
Free speech does not mean there are no consequences for harassment. I wonder what the legal definition of “harassment” is.
I remember Topeka once had a really bad tornado...just sayin.
“.....to see how far their First Amendment Rights go.”
Right to the front door of the Second Amendment. Semper Fi
I have heard that the mysterious phenomenon of spontaneous human combustion can occur without any warning whatsoever, often on lonely country roads.
Aren’t they from Wichita?
And when it's over, after the dust settles, if someone says it's "God's will what happened to Fred Phelps" I won't be able to disagree.
Where have they been lately? They were conspicuous by their silence when DADT was repealed. And they were MIA when the Justice Dept announced DOMA would not be enforced. Given their supposedly intense hatred of homosexuals, I would’ve thought they’d load up the vans with thier G-d hates fags signs and high-tailed it down to the White House faster than Jeff Gordon on steroids. Given their involvment in the Kansas Dem party, is Soros or some DNC operatives calling the shots? Using these clowns to disparage and discredit the decent and truly righteous Christians? Their idea of discrediting conservatism?

My friend, you are assuming that thee people really have the Spirit of Christ in them.
Based on what I’ve been seeing so far, I don’t believe they have that.
The fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, MEEKNESS, GENTLENESS, SELF-CONTROL.
I don’t see ANY of these traits in this group.
All they have done is appropriate for themselves, the words — church and Baptist. Doesn’t mean a thing in reality.
If what these a-holes do is called freedom of speech..... Then punching their lights out.... is mine.
