Rudy’s always been a liberal and I doubt you can prove otherwise.

There is no doubt about that, IMO. I submit this observation: many people that lived in NYC or anywhere within 50 miles of it during 9/11, developed a bit of a "soft spot" for Giuliani as he emerged as a "hero" for many during the crisis and the aftermath. Heck, that "soft spot" extended far beyond NYC as I recall hearing folks from all around the country referring to him as "America's Mayor" and other similar platitudes. I don't think anyone needs to re-hash what the immediate area around NYC was like that day and beyond, it was hellish for any number of reasons. This guy stepped up and show some strength and leadership. IMO, give him his props for that. But that is it, period.

I think that aspect tends to make New Yorkers (and many others) want to continue to "give him props" so it may explain why I often hear people suggest Attorney General or whatever when his name comes up. IMO he is a big-government, authoritarian, gun-grabbing, statist that apparently holds obscene social values. That is it in a nutshell. I wouldn't want to see him anywhere in government at a national level (nor at a state level if I resided in that state!). Personally, I don't think that he has any intention whatsoever to actually become a candidate. I think that it is just a publicity and attention-seeking stunt.

Agreed, Rudy is all that. Your post is based on well known facts and is the same stated beliefs held by red blooded conservatives everywhere.

I can appreciate the "soft spot" many New Yorkers had for Rudy immediately after 911. Although I thought his "America's Mayor" label was way over the top, I too gave Rudy kudos for his post-911 leadership. In the end, however, I think it was way overblown. Rudy was no hero. Like Truman dropping the bomb on Japan and Obama ordering the killing of Osama, historic decisions like these are exactly what most Americans expect from their President's. The weeks and months after 911 called for dignified leadership and Rudy supplied that for the most part. Enough already!

The real issue here was with two Rudyboosters who took issue with my posting rhetoric pertaining to facts about NYC crime rates beginning to first decline under Mayor Dinkins, continuing to slide under Rudy and reaching all time lows under Mayor Bloomberg. These two Rudybots claim I was wrong and offered no proof. The proof is everywhere.
