I don’t mind Rudy but why are they polling independents for the Republican primary field?

You are SO wrong. Your state flag is CO. You state “The decrease in crime throughout NYC began under Mayor Dinkins.”

You obviously did not live in NY during the Dinkin or Rudy years.

Rudy cleaned up NYC. They were all against him, especially the NYFD and NYPD. They HATED Rudy. Why? Because of his cuts.

I remember because I lived in it and through it.

“Mayor Bloomberg seems to have done the best job fighting crime in NYC.”

Again, you obviously know NOTHING regarding NYC. Bloomberg INVITES crime, including inviting ALL illegals to come to NYC. How’s that for “fighting” crime.

Prior to Rudy, anyone living outside the NYC boroughs would only go to NYC, under their own peril.

After Rudy cleaned it up, it was a completely different place.

Since I still live here and go to NYC, only when I must, I notice the difference already. NYC is going back to it’s pre-Rudy years, under Bloomberg.

P.S. DINKINS SUCKED AND STILL DOES!!

>> A new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation national poll shows the former New York City mayor atop the slow-forming Republican primary field. The survey shows Giuliani getting 16 percent of independents and Republicans, with nominal frontrunner Mitt Romney a point behind at 15 percent. <<

And Ron Paul is polling single-digits again. Are Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, and Sam Brownback going to be "thinking about" running next?

Cuz if so, tonight we're gonna party like it's 2007.

No retrends!

Sorry, I’m all riled up. Someone on this thread thinks this is a “pro Rudy” thread, which is isn’t.

I am now on total offense and will attempt to crush any opposition.....people in my life thought I was an “extremist” before have NO idea what’s heading their way.

I apologize to you. =)

RE :"What makes you think Palin will eventually announce her candidacy, and file for it?".....
Oh, I don't know. Just everything she has been doing these past couple of years. If you had been paying attention I would NOT need to explain it to you.

Well who am I to argue with 'everything' ? That's alot.

We don’t really know who they are “polling”....or even if they are.

What they are trying to do is pick our nom....we CANNOT allow it this time around.

It’s make or break it 2012. I believe Sarah, with Cain or West is our only option.

If you have been paying attention you would NOT have to ask such a question.

Thank you =).

These lying back stabbing cockroaches need to have the light shine upon them so they are forced to scurry back into the darkness where they belong (memories of living in the Bronx).

We must go on the offense anytime they attempt to choose our nom for 2012.

I have jumped head first, which is NOT me. I’m a “better safe than sorry” kind of gal.

Our country is on the line. Time for me to come out of my shell and stand for what is right.

Rudy??? I just threw up in my mouth.

For any Rudymites out there, I'll restate what I said often during 2007 and early 2008:

I have always voted R for President, all the way back to Reagan, but I will vote third party if Rudy gets the nomination.

The only way Rudy can get the nom is if the DEMONcrats jump across the lines and vote him in.

I still can’t believe repubes have open primaries.

Looks like I struck a nerve. GOOD!

>>>>>>P.S. DINKINS SUCKED AND STILL DOES!!

So does Giuliani and Bloomberg. Frankly, after your passionate defense of Rudy, sounds like you'd vote for him to be potus in a NYC minute! Haven't we been here before, you and I? LOL

>>>>>You are SO wrong. Your state flag is CO.

Yeah, southern Colorado is a great place to live, but I'm not wrong about Rudy or about past and present NYC politics. My post was factual and correct.

I was born and raised in NYC. Over the years I witnessed first hand the changes the city went through during Dinkins, Rudy's and Bloomberg's time as Mayor. Between family and friends, my trips back east and the internet, I am well informed of all the details and all gossip. One doesn't have to be a resident of the Big Apple or a genius to stay informed on current events. Get real!

NYC remains a very liberal city, more so today then at any time in the past. Democrats run the city and they have continued to tax and regulate NewYawkers to death. While crime rates began to fall under Dinkins and continued to drop off under Rudy. Under Bloomberg, crime rates dropped to their lowest levels ever. Get your facts straight.

>>>>>Bloomberg INVITES crime, including inviting ALL illegals to come to NYC. How’s that for “fighting” crime.

Rudy wasn't any different. The fact is Rudy protected illegal immigrants when he was Mayor and NYC was a quasi sanctuary city. Rudy also supported the Bush-Kennedy-McCain comprehensive immigration reform of 2005. Rudy says amnesty and a path to citizenship is okay as long as illegals pay a fine for breaking the law. More liberalism!

Btw, Rudy increased the budgets for NYC and increasd the number of city employees. Get your facts straight!

"Sarah or bust, or it's on to phase two"

That's not quite clear. If it's not Sarah then is it bust or is it phase two?

You have NOT read any of my posts regarding Rudy.

You jumped to the conclusion “So does Giuliani and Bloomberg. Frankly, after your passionate defense of Rudy, sounds like you’d vote for him to be potus in a NYC minute!”

Rudy was actually on the ballot here in Suffolk County, (Thompson was not, but was in NYC).

As I’ve stated previously, I pulled my lever for SARAH (which, unfortunately had mclame on the same ballot). One of the gals I worked with was ALL for Rudy. I called her after I voted to let her know Rudy was on the ballot and she could vote for HER man.

She said no and was pulling for mclame. I said “ I thought Rudy was your man and you have an opportunity to pull the lever for him”. She declined.

Yes, I had the opportunity to vote for Rudy, but chose Sarah instead.

Therefore, your “everyone has an a$$hole as they have an opinion” has been crushed.

Try again.

“Yeah, southern Colorado is a great place to live, but I’m not wrong about Rudy or about past and present NYC politics. My post was factual and correct.”

I’d like to see links to your ‘facts’. NoGrayZone’s summation exactly fit my experience of Dinkins, Giuliani, and Bloomberg’s mayorships; yours was way off. What kind of people were you getting information from when you’d visit, if you did often?

Using ‘New Yawker’ and ‘NYC minute’ point to not being a New Yorker, even if you might have been born here however long ago. Nobody here except tourists or transplants who want to have the ‘New York experience’ or think it helps fit in as a ‘New Yawker’ uses that phrase, which is ‘New York minute’ properly, anyway.

Again, NoGrayZone is right about how things were, and are. This city was beginning to get violently out of control in the last term of Koch, worsened, even, under Dinkins, and it wasn’t until Giuliani’s first term that things started to slowly change - and he took constant heat for it all the while. Not everything made the local papers, let alone the national news.

And I don’t think he should be president, or even run for president.

Look, pal. Learn to control your emotions better and maybe you'll be able to debate me on the factual content of my arguments as they relate to Giuliani. Otherwise, at this point your continued foolish behavior makes you come across as a high strung juvenile.

>>>>>You jumped to the conclusion....

Wrong. I just read your passionate defense of Rooty-Toot and posted facts to back up my opinion that Giuliani was a liberal when he was mayor and remains a big time liberal today!

And bringing Sarah Palin into the debate is a red herring.

Thank you OldNewYork. You have obviously lived through Dinkins, Giuliani, and Bloomberg, as I have, or at least admit the truth about it.

I remember NYC HATING Rudy, especially the NYFD and NYPD.

And you are correct when you state “And I don’t think he should be president, or even run for president.”

Rudy is a bulldog who hates corruption and waste; however, he is a social lib.

I believe he would do great in any position that does not allow him ANY voice in social issues.

Anyone who did not live through the Koch, Dinkin, Rudy, Bloomberg admin has NO clue what NYC was, what it was transformed to, and now becoming what it used to be prior to Rudy.
