Yes, the propaganda tends to exaggerate the proportion of gays and the public has really been bamboozled by this.
The proportion is more like 2% at best.
Another thing is that the propaganda likes to lump everything together. My personal belief is that there are different kinds of homosexuality, reflecting the different etiologies. Also, Lesbians and male homosexuals can be quite different from each other. They are not just mirror images. For example, Lesbian couples stay together much longer, and make much better parents. Male homosexual pairings only rarely of long duration.
So, when people discuss whether homosexuals should be able to adopt, it is better to let Lesbians adopt than to have a child with no care but letting male homosexuals adopt is asking for trouble.
Oh, did I just discriminate by gender? I guess that I did, because the sexes (so-called genders) really are different. An ideologue with a system will never pay attention to plain facts like this.
You do make a good point, I have noticed that somehow lesbian relationships seem, on average, to fare better than male homosexuals, odd, but observable. I suspect that this may be an illustration of inherent gender differences, though.
