Gov. Rick Perry today gave his strongest indication yet that he may run for president.
Im going to think about it after the legislative session ends Monday, Perry said. He added, But I think about a lot of things.
For years, Perry has said that he would not run for president and that he had no interest in the job. He has often said that he has said no to the presidential question in as many ways as he could.
But he and his advisers have inched closer to saying he may run all week, following the announcement that Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels would not enter the GOP field. A couple of days ago, he told Greta Van Susteren on Fox News that a run was tempting.
Many conservatives have called on Perry to enter a field which could have room for a social and fiscal conservative with Perrys energy and charisma. And, intentionally or not, the governor has set himself up for a run over the last couple of years, making a Texas/Washington contrast the focus of his 2010 re-election and writing a book called Fed Up! Our Fight to Save America From Washington.
Perry was asked about the presidency during a press conference to hail a voter-identification law that he has signed into law.
The presidential talk began when a reporter asked Perry for his reaction to the fact that the Hispanic Republican Conference of Texas, a group of state legislators, endorsed him for president on Thursday.

Oh dear God no.
Well, that will ruin Romney’s chance, since Perry has better hair.
I knew it....
I’m sorry, but I’m not sure why Perry running is such a bad thing...and I’m being serious.
If you or someone else could explain Perry’s positions that are “anti-conservative”, I’d be most appreciative.
Thanks!
Transcript from Greta’s show (interview with Rush Limbaugh):
GRETA: One last question. Who’s your dream candidate to get into the race? Not necessarily someone you would endorse or support, but who’s your dream candidate to get into the race?
RUSH: I would love for Rick Perry to get into it, or anybody like him that would fire up the base. The more conservatives in this race — the more full-throated, unapologetic, pedal-to-the-metal conservatives in this race — the greater the opportunity one of them is gonna be elected.
He’s a lot better than Romney.
Is Perry the latest Bush Family/Rove hand picked candidate for 2012 since Daniels bowed out?
That was the only thing Rush said in the whole interview that I disagreed with.
Another Texas governor?
Perry would have to do something dramatic to separate himself from Bush.

Oh my. I am on the edge of my chair. We don’t have enough RINO’s in this race yet.
Christie will be in before long.
I don’t know enough about Perry, but he’d sure be far better than what we now have in office. I do like his booming voice.
He supported the DREAM ACT for one. If he is backed by the Hispanic Repubs....that should tell you everything you need to know. They are a “stealth amnesty” group.
The Bushes do not like Perry.
They wanted Kay Bailey to primary him out of the governor’s race. Cheney did radio spots supporting KBH.
The Texan would be a huge improvement over the Hawaiian.
Any politician who has held an executive or legislative position for any length of time is going to have voted for some positions that the ideological purists on FR disagree with.
That means that they get labeled RINOs. The only way to escape this this is to have no elected history (Cain) or very short (Palin 2.5 years as governor) or vote against everything and get labeled a crank (Paul)

WEll lets see: Perry was one of the biggest proponents of the Trans Texas Corridor which would have among other things allowed the high speed travel of Mexican trucks to traverse the country. I was going to be administered as a toll road by Cinta a Mexican owned company.
Perry was invited to and attended the 2009 Bilderberger meetng. A NWO organization.
If you liked GW Bush you will love Perry. You will get continued open borders, The North American Union and more “free trade” the kind that sends all of our jobs to to other countries.

I agree. He’s the estabs secret weapon. If Sarah gains traction they’ll roll him out and it’s not a bad idea from their point of view. He can claim that “the country needed me”. More the merrier!
