FORT WORTH, Texas - A Fort Worth teenager is dead after police said he tried to break into a house and was shot.
The incident happened at about noon on Wednesday in the 1100 block of East Jefferson Avenue.
The homeowner said shortly after he returned home from work he heard a noise at his back window.
The man said he pulled back the blinds and saw a young man with a crow bar trying to pry the window open.
He was coming in the house. He scared me. I didnt know what else to do, he said. I put the clip in the gun and I clicked it thinking that he heard all that.
But that didnt work, he said.
When I raised the blinds he was still there, like he was still coming in. He was almost in then. I didnt know what else to do, the man said. When I raised the blinds up I shot him.
Police believe thats when 17-year-old Ernest Morris turned around and jumped over the fence. But he didnt make it far. He died behind the house from a bullet wound to the chest.
Jacqueline Morris doesnt believe her son had to die. She wants justice for him.
He was a wonderful son and Im gonna miss him, she said.
Morris said her son played football for Meadowbrook Middle School and Eastern Hills High School. But he seemed to be getting in trouble more often and ended up in an alternative school.
They said he got a ticket and go to court messin up, havin fights at school. Thats the normal thing childs do. But other than that he was a good person, she said.
She wants answers as to why the homeowner didnt do more to scare him away. She believes her son may have known the mans daughter.
I think it was the girl. To visit somebody, I think, she said. Some people like my sister, if I dont answer the door my sister and them go and knock on my window.
Tarrant County District Attorney Joe Shannon said in Texas homeowners have the right to use deadly force if there is reasonable fear of death or serious bodily injury. Self defense laws are complex, and its usually left up to a grand jury to decide whats right and wrong.
At this point the homeowner has not been arrested.
He said the incident sadly changed his life and the lives of the teenagers family.
A lot of people say, you know, youre protecting this. Youre protecting your property. But to take somebodys life, I gotta live with that for the rest of my life and I know his family has to live with it, he said.
She's right. She could have raised her son to do better than burgling houses. No-one forced him to take up a life of crime.
She wants justice for him.
Hurrah! She already has it ...
Did anyone explain to this woman that we cannot put dead people on trial?
And then maybe he should have had a nice sit down talk with the kid to talk about his feelings.... And why he is acting out /sarcasm
There is a profound tragedy here. The homeowner has a fearful burden to carry through his life, really through no fault of his own.
I even believe the mother: mothers have a bias toward thinking their children are all right, and it is natural for children to be able to elicit affection from their parents. But it is just as certain that this was a bad kid. What happened to him would probably have happened later in his life, and maybe under worse circumstances, and with more harm to others.
Where was the anonymous father? The proportion of children from single-parent families is rising still. It first was a phenomenon of the black community, and now it has spread to the population generally: the fruits of moral breakdown and feminism. And what do the feminists say about this? They demonize men, and demand that they pay more “child support.” But that is not fathering in the full sense. The more payments for single parents, the greater the subsidy for this behavior, and the poorer and more crime-ridden we become.
I am sorry for all involved. I am even sorry for that kid, who wasted his natural talents and his life, and hurt everyone around him (even his indulgent mommy).
Windows are not cheap. Will the mother of this suspect, since he was a minor, be made to pay for the damages her son caused to the window?
Mom thought this was a Frank Capra film, but instead, it was a Quentin Terantino film. Surprise!
Wow, that lady has one bad case of denial about who and what her kid was.
Good thing this happened in Texas and not somewhere more “progressive.”
Quanell X will be in Fort Worth soon.
“Jacqueline Morris doesnt believe her son had to die. She wants justice for him.”
then-
“Did anyone explain to this woman that we cannot put dead people on trial?”
conclusion-
I believe the young man would have to plead “no contest”!

She no longer has to want. Justice has been served.
I am convinced that the reason blacks want gun control is so that their kids won’t get killed while committing crimes.
Lady, you raised your kid to be scum. He got what he deserved.
She wants answers as to why the homeowner didnt do more to scare him away
Its not the homeowners responsibility to correct your son. You raised him to be a dirtbag, its much more your fault than it could ever be the innocent homeowners.
Visit somebody with a crowbar? That family is some trash that makes the Beans of Egypt Maine seem like high society.
Some people like my sister, if I dont answer the door my sister and them go and knock on my window.
and the generally my durn sister jest opens up the doggone winder with her crowbar ifn I dont let her in. In my family my mother, my sister, my mother, my sister, lets herself in all the time through the winder with a crowbar. Hits normal. Everbody doz it.
At this point the homeowner has not been arrested
.and should never be.
A lot of people say, you know, youre protecting this. Youre protecting your property. Youre also protecting your own life. If someone breaks into your house, your life is definitely in danger. Who knows what an animal that is so out of touch with civilization that he thinks its OK to break into a persons home may do. Not only that, she shouldve taught her lazy son to earn some money at a job instead of thinking that hes entitled to just take what other people have worked hard for.
Lady, your son in burning in Hell right now. I hope YOU spend your life thinking about your nearly nonexistent, feral parenting skills
They said he got a ticket and go to court messin up, havin fights at school...”
I wonder if the ticket will still have to be paid?
And glass mugs.
And large rocks.
And small rocks.
And pointed sticks.
And twigs.
And plush toys.
And choking hazard toys.
And Legos.
Them extry kromosew ems warnt no fault of hzn. He was just born that-a-way. Hiz Daddy, hiz uncle, hiz daddy, hiz uncle had em too.
Pore little feller, he didnt git to be raised up by a daddy like most boys, cuz his daddy, hiz uncle hiz daddy his uncle had to go to prison fer life after decapitatin somebody in a bar fight. You know, like most folks do.
Quite possibly because the mother doesn't know which overnight guest the father was. 17 years is long time to keep written records when the ring binders fill up so fast.
OTOH, she may know who he is but not where he's incarcerated at this particular time. A diligent TV reporter might be able to track him down, but I doubt that he or she could get a statement from him that would be intelligible to viewers whose native language isn't Ghettoese.
She believes her son may have known the mans daughter.
This is simply unbelievable. This woman has absolutely no value system. Her value system is that whatever she and her family do is okay, and whatever laws, rules or other peoples' rights that get in the way are wrong. Anarchy at its finest hour.
P.S. -- Yeah, go ahead and see my daughter with an unauthorized visit and y'all don't get too loud with that heavy breathing in the bedroom back there, ya heah? Oh, and if she doesn't approve and starts to scream, cover her mouth up.
Picture of a "good boy, who played football, had friends, and didn't deserve to die".
