Lech Walesa, Poland's Solidarity-era legend, ex-president and 1983 Nobel Peace Prize winner said Friday he would not accept an invitation to meet with fellow Nobel winner US President Barack Obama.
"It's difficult to tell journalists what you'd like to say to the president of a superpower. This time I won't tell him, I won't meet him, it doesn't suit me," Walesa told Poland's public broadcaster TVP.
Obama is due to arrive in Poland later Friday after the G8 summit in France.
Walesa was originally scheduled to meet Obama Saturday along with other key figures in Poland's post-1989 transition from communism to democracy.

I think that Present Stroker is too damned stupid to realize that he’s running around buck naked. His lackeys are too damned star struck to have the balls to tell him.
Just my honest and humble opinion, of course.

THANK YOU FOR THAT.
I’d never read it before.
Its haunting simplicity and directness actually
brought tears to my eyes.

She did tell him to SET IT DOWN..and he did. She chastised him like a child
I read your post and called up the excerpt from the video I downloaded and cranked up the volume. I distinctly hear a voice saying "set it down"! I hadn't caught that before...absolutely cringeworthy. I bet William and Kate have turned to each other at least once in the past week and said "I'm so glad we didn't put them on the guest list."

It brought a tear to my eye, too. When I read it, it also added better understanding as to exactly why meeting with Obozo doesn't suit Lech Walesa.

Yes, God Bless Lech.
But do you notice how the snub is completely ignored by the MSM? They only say that Poland is the last stop for Umm, Umm, Umm, Barak Hussein Obama......

Good for him! In my experience, Catholics are often more willing to be honest. He is a man who fought Communism, met with Popes and Presidents, and rallied his people to triumph. He doesn’t need to waste his time on a shallow, empty, socialist.

It’s going to take a lot to undo the damage Obama did to Poland when he undid the missile shield and gave away our nuke secrets. I hope the American people take into account all the negative and damaging things that have been done by this idiot and vote him out.

That would explain why this former president of Poland said no to a meeting.
Either way, wasn’t he awarded a prize after the deeds and work were done?
Obama was pretty much awarded it just for being elected. Being the political independent that I am, giving the person a prize right at the start of the administration is a little rediculous. What had he done to deserve it? Giving an award based on potential is utterly rediculous.
I am highly disappointed that Greg Mortensen was not awarded the prize, because he so far exemplifies by what he did, a great deal of what a person is capable of doing, and has been doing for a long time so far. There are also numerous others who could have been a good example for what they have done so far.
Anyway, I know the nature of what the Committee has become, but that’s my two cents.

He is still a man.

Ive been to Warsaw and have extended family living there. They love America and they love freedom. Many have grandparents, uncles etc slaughtered by the Nazi’s and Russians so they have a unique perspective.

Lech Walesa actually did something to Rate winning the Nobel Peace prize........... As opposed to His Zeroness
That's true...I didn't want to post the following observation as a vanity, so here goes...Obama is done. Elliot Spitzer was interviewing a guy tonight from the tornado torn region of the midwest and Spitzer mentioned Obama's scheduled visit there this weekend - asking the guy for his reaction. The interviewee from the heartland (don't want to advertise who he is) basically ignored the question and directed the conversation elsewhere. This man being interviewed is a leader in the community , btw. Then Spitzer tried to spin it in a totally nauseating kind of way - it was embarrassing...
Perception really is everything and Obama has blown it. Another prediction - not only is Obama "done" but so is Spitzer..totally pathetic.

For a union guy, he's OK :)
I remember how special it was when he was there in the Rotunda to pay his last respects to our beloved Ronnie. One of the giants of that era. God Bless John Paul, Lech, Margaret, and Ronnie.
