Probably more involved than indicated in article. I know from personal experience no matter where one is, a urgent call of nature will not be denied.

Will never forget my embarrassment on a very, very, cold still January day in 1956. I was a 17 year old in basic training at Ft. Leonardwood MO and we had been on a forced March. Then back at the company area, were made to stand at attention in the ranks. This while some 2nd Louie idiot addressing the troops prattled on and on. I had to urinate so bad there was no stopping it, and the steam rising up from my wet pants for all to see was not my finest moment.

In short order a young family friend and a nephew went into the military. Reflecting on my own service I told them to NEVER pass up the opportunity to hit the head (go to the latrine). That's because YOU NEVER KNOW when you'll be there again.

They report that continues to be good advice.
