Tonight, I cast an affirmative vote in the House to continue three measures which uphold our national security and are in place to protect American citizens against those seeking to do us harm. I urge you to click on the link and read about the Constitutionality of these provisions compiled by my friend and colleague, Rep. Steve King (IA-05), a member of the Judiciary Committee.
My only real problem with the patriot act was that it didn’t clearly exclude American citizens.
Fact is, if we were a remotely sensible nation the patriot act would have never come about because 9/11 would have never come about.
Righto. Libertarians are for Liberty. I will take my chances with the muzzies rather than live in a Police State.
The extent to which this is not going well is somewhat difficult to overstate
More than a few donors walking out of the dinner as Q&A begins
1st Polk County GOP donor I spoke to abt Bachmann: "It was awful. My daughter could do a better video feed."
I don't support her any more than I do most of the other so-called conservatives out there. One problem with Bachmann is that she attended the libertarian-esque CPAC, while more-conservative candidates/groups boycotted it because of the offensive presence of GOProud and the fact that the conference has become less conservative every year.
If Bachmann is so socially conservative, then why didnt she join the boycott? Values really only mean something when you have to make a sacrifice for them. It seems that Bachmann was unwilling to make a personal sacrifice by boycotting CPAC, so I do not consider her (or anyone else who attended CPAC) to be that socially conservative.
Would I vote for her over Romney and others? Sure. But that's really not saying much.
So you side with the Muslims over the Americans.
You sound like a Libertarian alright.IIRC you sided with the Nazis in 1940.
Maybe Obama would be a good fit for you. Bachmann being too liberal after all
Huh? I dont think you understood the statement.
Rand Paul said it pretty well yesterday. Why didn’t those in government who failed us such as those FBI supervisors who refused to go after a warrant after multitudes of agents requested it on the “terrorists” be prosecuted after 9-11 for incompetence, instead of being given medals?
Instead they go after every American and make them suspects.
No, I side with the Constitution. The Muzzies can be dealt with by the FBI. These new agencies DHS, TSA, etc. are another GOP Big Government expansion.
Oh so Bachmann is your choice so you will make idiotic assumptions because you cant debate the fact that Michele Bachmann supportsan unconstitutional, anti liberty bill
Huh? I didn't realize that criticism of Bachmann wasn't allowed. I'll go sit in the corner now. LOL.

Good thing she didn’t debate that kid from Jersey.
That’s 2 strikes.
I keep asking on Patriot Act related threads if somebody can please point out to me what specific sections they find objectionable. I’m still coming up empty.
I’ve read the Act. I haven’t found anything all that objectionable in it yet, and certainly nothing unconstitutional.
I’d be interested to know what people find in the actual law that is so abhorrent. I haven’t seen it yet.
You aren’t very smart are you?
FWIW...I used to be a supporter of the Patriot act. I now realize that our military and an unfettered law enforcement (no lib BS) would do far more to protect us without all the excess power too easily abused by the powers that be.
“She just lost my vote.”
She has not lost my (potential) vote over this single item, but her stock sure dropped.
