I have a ‘91 Miata with a similar amount of miles on it, and I have decided that I will only replace it when the chassis rusts in half. There’s something to be said for cheap, reliable, and fun to drive... without Big Brutha watching.
When that happens (because the oil pump gear is harder than the camshift worm), the camshaft gear (and the camshaft) is destroyed. Happened twice with my older Accord -- filling the engine with metal chips each time...
