Palin can beat Romney in the primaries. There's no legion of Romney die-hards that aren't made of electrons, cash and Astroturf. Palin has actual and potential grassroots power, which there is no substitute for.

Could Romney make a good VP for Palin? It would neuter his RomneyCare curse, because she's opposed to it, and he's not the front runner. It would give her access to his awesome fundraising abilities. Also, the man is RINO as the day is long, so it would also disarm any criticism that the ticket was a right wing parade.

If she were able to absorb Romney into her fold, then the primaries would in effect be over. Palin / Romney is more than the current pack of gnomes, dwarves and wee folk would be able to contest.

Given my druthers, I would prefer Palin / West, but I understand that there are strategic and tactical considerations that make dream teams hard to come by.

I doubt it. If she was inclined to go with an "establishment" pick to "balance" the ticket, I'd think of Daniels or Pawlenty over Romney -- especially if the 'rats stick with Biden. Barbour fits the bill here also, and adds more experience.

EV geography suggests maybe Allen from Virginia or Walker from Wisconsin.

Picking a foreign policy expert might be in the works. That can range from old hands like Bolton to newcomers like West.

Lots of options, and all better than Romney.

NO MITTENS - NO WAY - NO HOw!

There’s no place on a Palin ticket, no spot in her cabinet for this vacillating POS weather vane.

A vp slot would give him the possibilty of another GHW Bush who did his damnedest to undo everything Ronaldus achieved and stood for.

Don’t take his money. The money will come to Sarah Palin like you won’t believe.

Hmm.... Looking at that from a purely analytical/logistical view from outside the right, I can see the logic in it. Problem is, Sarah and Mitt are ideologically like oil and water.

There's no natural mix there, and in fact, the two are mutually repellant. So would their supporters be, and the total package would wind up being less than the sum of its parts.

Might even lose to The Usurper.

Nope. Ain't gonna work.

The cure is worse than the disease. Keep in mind that if elected, mittens would be one haertbeat away from being POTUS. Too risky. Better to simply defeat him in the primaries and take her chances in the general.

If she needs a progressive republican, and I can’t fathom why, then she should pick someone like rudy who won’t go dashing to his manpurse for tissues the first time someone gets nasty with him.

Palin/Romney? That's a terrible idea!

I'm so sick of the conventional wisdom that a ticket needs to be "balanced". Screw that. Palin should pick another conservative to run with her and if she does so, she will roll to an easy victory.

Romney screwed the pooch by inflicting socialized health care upon the long-suffering people of Massachusetts. He deserves no place on a GOP ticket.

“Could Romney make a good VP for Palin?”

I don’t believe that he plays second fiddle very well.

Were I advising Sarah I would say no to Romney. I don’t believe that he’d be a trustworthy, nor supportive VP. Quite frankly I don’t trust the man.
