I would only work (and this just barely!) if Romney had a sudden epiphany regarding RomneyCare. Acknowledged it was a flat failure, he was foolish for doing it, it was against his better business judgment, but he let himself be talked into it, because the MA public wanted it. However he has spent too much political capital defending the indefensible to ever do this!
My previous tepid support for Romney back in 2008 was based on a) Dislike of McCain, b) Failure of Thompson's effort, c)my being influenced by some MA GOP’ers I worked with & d) that fact that he had a successful business record.

Cain's record is much more impressive! A Palin/Cain ticket would do nicely!

Romney knows that MassCare is completely radioactive, and a real deal breaker for most conservatives. That's why he's not talking about it, nor defending his role in its implementation. He can't take it back, or apologize for it now, because that mea culpa would sink his ship even faster than if he just avoids the topic.

The fact that his judgement and personal integrity failed so badly that he signed that commie legislation into law, is a bridge that he can't cross back over. It's done, and he has to live with the repercussions, whatever they are.
