Church members plan to protest when President Obama visits tornado victims
The controversial Westboro Baptist Church is planning to protest President Obama's visit to Joplin, Missouri Sunday. On its website, the church writes, "Thank God for 125 dead in Joplin." Church members claim Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has attacked them by promoting laws banning them from protesting at soldiers' funerals.

They are not really Christians so they don’t give real Christians a black eye.

*”Thank God for 125 dead in Joplin.”*
Thats cold-blooded!
People should use a little brain-power and try to understand that just because someone claims to be a Christian or Reverend doesnt mean they really are.
If they bear poison fruit like these Westboro characters, you can see that their deeds do not line up with scripture, dont be fooled.
Rev Wright? Rev Jackson? Hitler claimed to be a Catholic-his actions and words did not match up with Christianity in any way. Obama claims to be a Christian, has hardly ever gone to church since he got in the white house. Has rarely been in a REAL church (Wrights church doesnt count, its just a front for his phony political believes). Christains that believe the Bible would not be against Israel either.
I can claim to be a 2011 Mercedes, but if I cant go past 25 mph, you might have reason to doubt me.

What I said was that it seems like everytime someone messes with Israel that stuff happens. And "stuff" happens all the rest of the time, too.
Now: Who do you think is this "someone" that's "mess[ing] with Israel"?
If the "stuff" happening is a vindictive response to "someone" "mess[ing] with Israel", the we must expect that "stuff" to be happening to the "someone" and his/her/its supporters.
I look around the world, and I see mohammedan jihadists messing with Israel. I see Barry Hussein messing with Israel.
I see natural disasters in Japan, and in the middle of the United States. Neither location is a hotbed of support for mohammedan jihadists or for Barry Hussein. Quite the contrary, in fact.
So ... I see two conclusions.
One is that this "stuff" has nothing whatever to do with Israel.
The other is that the author of this "stuff" has abominably poor targeting ability, and beating up on the wrong people.

I was just making the comment that it seems like To me, "it seems like" every time there's a natural disaster, somebody wants to link it to Israel, or End Times, or some such, and support his link with Scripture.
I offer an alternative point of view ... also supported by Scripture.

The passage you offer actually supports the idea that God uses disasters (regardless of who the victims might be) as a sign to induce repentance when people (in general) aren't taking him seriously. I can't speak for anyone else, but that's all I'm saying. (And God does deal with nations.)

All of us in Joplin have plenty on our plates at the moment the last thing we will be concerned with is a few westboro folks. We already have a counter protest in the works “which will be peaceful to the most extent possible” most everyone in this area has lost family members and everything no telling what will happen if people show up spitting our faces. So far four thousand locals will be along the memorial route to show support for Joplin and the president.
