The Labor Department said 424,000 people filed new applications for jobless benefits in the week ended May 21, compared to an upwardly revised 414,000 in the prior week.

In a period of strong economic growth and rapid hiring, weekly claims usually fall well below 400,000.

The level of spin and cover for Obami is incredible. This 400,000 number was at or near 300,000 during the BOOSH years.

What Bush years are you talking about? Certainly, not all 8 years.
