CAIRO – Egypt will open its only crossing with the Gaza Strip this weekend, the Cairo military government announced Wednesday, significantly easing a four-year blockade on the Hamas-ruled territory but setting up a potential conflict with Israel.

Egypt's official Middle East News Agency said the Rafah border crossing would be opened permanently starting Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day except Fridays and holidays.

It’s easier to carry the missiles across with the gates open.

Thank You Mr. Obama.

I hereby proclaim the Gaza Strip as the new Palestinian State.

May they live in peace and prosper.

Simple solution. Just give gaza back to Egypt with the promise that the first rocket launched against Israel, Cairo will be toast.

I'm betting they'll close it within a few months, to keep out the Palis, whom they can't stand even now. Just wait till those welfare cases start over-running Egypt in earnest. They'll let the Palis out, but not in.

They say that when you are in a poker game and you can't figure out who the pigeon is, it's you.

That is how I am beginning to feel. The economy is in shambles. Our military is scattered all over the place. The politicians are corrupt or incompetent. Our enemies are creeping up on us. Our allies don't trust us. One of our best allies, Israel, is being moved on. And I sense a gathering threat.
Our enemies would not be so brazen if they did not believe an opportunity was at hand.

actually, one way to settle the Gaza problem is to give it back to Egypt, who has owned it for 3000 or more years.

Then give the west bank back to Jordon.
