CHERCHEZ LA FEMME; French women are starting to speak up
The Weekly Standard ^ | May 30, 2011 | Anne-Elisabeth Moutet

Ever since the news broke, a week ago Saturday, of the IMF head’s surprise arrest, for alleged attempted rape, in the first-class cabin of an Air France jet minutes from takeoff on the JFK tarmac, the Dominique Strauss-Kahn meltdown has caused France to experience a kind of cosmic O.J. moment. Specials take up every slot between news bulletins on all cable channels as well as on network prime time. Talking heads and supposed experts are called in to wall-to-wall illustrate, commentate, and pontificate. Every front page and magazine cover features a tieless, unshaven, haggard DSK—as he is known here—snapped during his infamous New York perp walk. Nobody talks about anything else.

Did he do it? How could he have been so stupid as to do it? Who entrapped him into doing it? Who benefits from his doing it? Did he jump? Was he pushed? Is this a dastardly Sarkozyste plot against the front-runner in next year’s presidential election? (Nobody suspects DSK’s main rivals within the Socialist party, François Hollande and Martine Aubry, of being practical-minded and organized enough to sort out a foreign honeytrap for him. This may not bode well for their chances in 2012.) Is this an evil international plot against France/the euro/the IMF/the EU, masterminded by Obama/Wall Street/Boeing/the Germans/China?

Really. Not joking here. A nice and smart friend of mine, a longtime lobbyist for one of France’s major corporations, which manufactures both civilian and military hardware, ticked off all the reasons why “stealing France’s [presidential] election simply can’t have happened by chance.” France was weakened by this, she explained. This worked against the euro. It threatened Europe’s economic recovery. Even if DSK hadn’t become president of France, he would have been a perfect contender for Herman Van Rompuy’s job as president of the European Union.

Are French women finally wising up to the fact that what passes for le Grand Seducteur in France is just another really creepy serial sex offender and abuser of women?

Will French women still be taken in?

There are many, women coming out of the woodwork, and the charges grow more revolting each day. It seems DSK was caught in his car in the Bois de Boulogne in a criminal sex act. It is a known hsngout for all sexes of hookers waiting for men like DSK to drive by.

Ask our own little French seducdeur Pepe le Pew!

The decent women already know, but apparently many of the men don’t care. So much for the much-vaunted “sophistication” of the French compared to us savage Americans.

If this political/opinion elite was this blind to DSK, then small wonder Paris is becoming a battlefield. We’re badly in need of a Charles Martel.

As the amusing cartoon reflects from the not so amusing world, French culture carries this “grand seducer” mythos around — usually it’s the guy, but the gal is known to initiate things from time to time. America is more egalitarian and entertains a different distortion of eros that if the two agree anything is A-OK no matter what the actual relationship happens to be.

There are many similarities to the Clinton Bimbo Eruption Squad, manned by women on his staff in Arkansas to protect Slick from his victims talking.
Many were willing, like Denise Rich, Barbra S, Gennifer Flowers and hundreds of others. Many werent & they had to be silenced or threatened.Like the harassment of Paula Jones, or the groping of Kathleen Willey or, almost identical to the DSK case, the violent rape of Juanita Broadderick.
Sexual deviants follow similar patterns. The wives and entourage are the enablers.

Just remember, the French guy has style and class compared to Obama.

Pepe le Pew was the Academy Award-winning 1949 short, For Scent-imental Reasons .

Things have not changed much in France since then. The cartoons are brilliant because they are still true and still funny.

Obama isn’t the right comparison, Clinton is.

IIRC, the original Pepe le Pew is an all-American skunk (in species, not character) with a wife and family, who puts on French airs to broaden his sex appeal.

Pepe the loyal “Vive la France!” skunk came along later.

Anyway, the current DSK imbroglio evokes that classic French saying, “Worse than a crime, it was a blunder.”

The French just can't seem to grasp the simple truth that the droit du seigneur and rape by a sleazy creep are the same thing.

My favorite quote from Pepe le Pew is, “She’s just bashful.” I wonder if DSK will use that as his defense.

FYI..check out the story on TheDailyBeast.com today...it suggests that French women are “used to being treated that way..”
