A series of messages forwarded to The Daily Caller show a top aide to former Alaska Gov. and possible presidential candidate Sarah Palin mocking top political figures and even her boss’s own daughter, Bristol Palin.
RedState.com founder and CNN contributor Erick Erickson is “a total douchebag,” wrote Palin speechwriter and domestic policy adviser Rebecca Mansour in a May 22, 2010, message. “Greasy dumb ass with a talent for self-promotion. He threw himself in at the Gov’s SC rally. Self-promotion.” (Erickson said South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley invited him to the rally).
Mitt Romney supporters are “wacky as hell,” Mansour wrote, but usually Romney’s presence online is just an “AstroTurf brigade.”
“Would love to tell Mitt’s lackeys to stop backstabbing my boss anonymously,” Mansour wrote.
Then-California Senate candidate Chuck DeVore “wants to be the next Hugh Hewitt (or Huckabee). He knows he can’t win. He wants to become a ‘personality’. Give him a show to go away,” Mansour wrote. Palin endorsed Carly Fiorina over DeVore in the GOP primary for the race, angering some conservatives.
Mansour sent these embarrassing and revealing missives as “direct messages” on Twitter to an online-only acquaintance approximately a year ago. The person who received the messages forwarded them to TheDC.

I agree with your post wholeheartedly!!! Palin’s camp has been one if not the best tightly zipped political teams in long while! A story today, quoted Republicans saying that they have no clue what Palin or her staff is up too -nada. They don’t leak strategy , they don’t leak who they hire (others do that) ....etc
So what RAM did probably was the weakest link and other than the Bristol stuff, everything else wasn’t that bad
Thanks! I just looked. Doesn’t excuse Mansour for betraying Sarah’s confidence regarding family matters. The other stuff is Mansour’s opinion and I could not possibly care less about that.

I think there have certainly been a couple big leaks...there’s the book coming out from her former aid, and there’s the in-house emails, and I feel like we’re forgetting some other incidents... but yes, it’s notable that nobody knows her next move, even though she’s telegraphed it with that “fire in her belly” and whatnot.
What’s notable is, nobody would care about tweets or emails from someone in any other politicians camp.
She’s probably wise to hold off announcing until these attempts to scare her out of the race blow over. I’d like a Flag Day announcement.

I think RAM thought she was talking to a friend, and that friend decided to betray her for who knows what reason.
There’s nothing newsworthy there either. Just the DC trying to embarrass RAM and BigBoss (I like that)...but really, where’s the substance?
Did RAM say things that would pertain to the Governor’s competence? Did she reveal any plans?
No. She was talking for herself like she usually does on Twitter. Her opinions are her own.
The fact that the DC thought that RAMs personal thoughts were newsworthy says more about the DC than it does RAM, who privately was sharing thoughts that I and others share publicly on C4P all the time.

It’s a whole new world...well not so new now, but people on-line, even on FR, have intimate/detailed conversations. It’s a fact of life. She was stupid in that she shared things about her ‘boss’ who just happens to be a well known figure. She should have used a fake ID (the fact that she didn’t indicates that she wanted to be thought of as important imo)
Anyway, I didn’t see anything there that can hurt Palin. They were only observations and this woman’s opinion. No biggie.

Pretty sure Sarah will deal with the Bristol stuff. Everything else is part of the game, regardless of who they are. Funny how ‘guilt by association’ only applies to conservatives, though.
