What a top aide to Sarah Palin really thinks about Mitt Romney,Bristol Palin,Erick Erickson and more

A series of messages forwarded to The Daily Caller show a top aide to former Alaska Gov. and possible presidential candidate Sarah Palin mocking top political figures and even her boss’s own daughter, Bristol Palin.

RedState.com founder and CNN contributor Erick Erickson is “a total douchebag,” wrote Palin speechwriter and domestic policy adviser Rebecca Mansour in a May 22, 2010, message. “Greasy dumb ass with a talent for self-promotion. He threw himself in at the Gov’s SC rally. Self-promotion.” (Erickson said South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley invited him to the rally).

Mitt Romney supporters are “wacky as hell,” Mansour wrote, but usually Romney’s presence online is just an “AstroTurf brigade.”

“Would love to tell Mitt’s lackeys to stop backstabbing my boss anonymously,” Mansour wrote.

Then-California Senate candidate Chuck DeVore “wants to be the next Hugh Hewitt (or Huckabee). He knows he can’t win. He wants to become a ‘personality’. Give him a show to go away,” Mansour wrote. Palin endorsed Carly Fiorina over DeVore in the GOP primary for the race, angering some conservatives.

Mansour sent these embarrassing and revealing missives as “direct messages” on Twitter to an online-only acquaintance approximately a year ago. The person who received the messages forwarded them to TheDC.

This will be quickly forgotten. RAM is the victim here. No one should forget that. Her tweets do not betray any confidences of the Governor as far as I can tell, but are merely her own impressions. I have posted worse about Erick Erickson on FR when he was trying to knife both Nikki Haley and Christine O’Donnell. He is everything RAM said about him...and more.

I can imagine that Lyn Nofziger’s tweets would have looked like . They would have been real kneeslappers and I bet the Gipper would have doubled over in laughter at them and not taken them seriously either.

The Bristol stuff was wrong and she should have kept that information to herself. I like RAM she seems like a very genuine person, but comments about the boss’s daughter, even if she does do dumb things, well that was wrong.

But, the other comments I have no problem with.

Erick Erickson yup total d-bag. The guy hates Palin supporters, birthers, and he made a post stating that the Tea Party was finished.

Mitt Romney absolute RINO who thinks he’s the frontrunner for 2012.

I like Chuck Devore and I think he may be right in his frustration with not getting a Palin endorsement. But again these are two adults with a lot riding on the line and heated things are going to be said.

I don’t think this Twitter stuff sinks her chances for 2012, sorry PDSers. But it does show us how committed the media is to stopping Palin and the conservative movement.

DC has been a daily read of mine for some time....this bothers me that Tucker would run with this story....bothers me alot. I guess he’s just an inside the beltway elitist doing his part to rid the GOP of any real conservatives

She also insulted Erickson who played a large role in the 2010 elections. 2nd only to Palin.

Palin needs to remove her.

The stuff about Bristol was wrong, but Erickson insults Palin regularly, and I would argue that conservatives such as, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Bachman, Jim Robinson, and Mark Levin did just as much if not more heavy lifting than EE in the 2010 elections.

Anyway, back to my original point why should Sarah fire somebody who insulted a commentator, EE, who is a known Palin basher and doesn’t have her best interests at heart?
