John Walker Lindh is an ass, but the authorities declared him an UnPerson. They pretty much stripped him of all his Constitutional Protections, and that, people, worries me a lot more than a nutty kid with a Jihad fetish.

Laz, you get it. If they can do it to this kid, they can do it to anybody.

Well said.

Also, it could be very correct that he never participated in terrorism, even if he was a Taliban fighter.

And the "future crime" nature of firearms training should give pause to those who lawfully exercise their Second Amendment rights. Perhaps it's being applied appropriately now, but eternal vigilance is imperative.

Doesn't worry me a damn bit. Know what worries me? The memory hole where they dumped that moslem "secret service" agent from the Clinton era, apprehended with a loaded sidearm on his way to Crawford Texas shortly after 9/11, with no orders or papers, and a book about jihad on his seat in the airliner he was hauled off from. About twelve hours after his being arrested we never heard a single word about him again, until this very day.

John Lindh is small beer compared to the grim realities.

He took up arms with an enemy and fought against U.S. forces. In WWII if an American was captured on the battlefield fighting for the Nazis he could lawfully have been summarily executed on the spot. He falls outside the Geneva definition of a POW, as he’s actually a foreign spy.

That’s not something “that could happen to any of us.”
