MIAMI, Fla. Are U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal natural-born citizens of the United States, and thus eligible for the presidency?
It's a simple question, but the answer may not be so easy.
The next national election is less than 18 months away, and both rising Republican stars have been touted as potential contenders for either the No. 1 or No. 2 spot on a presidential ticket.
But their eligibility is in doubt since both men's parents were not U.S. citizens at the time their future political children were born, WND can reveal. That factor is important because the Constitution mandates a presidential candidate to be a "natural-born citizen," a requirement that has dogged President Barack Obama since the 2008 campaign.
With 2011 being the apparent year of the birth certificate, Jindal this month released a copy of his own birth record, indicating he was born on American soil specifically, Baton Rouge, La. to parents who were born in India.
Based on that disclosure, the New Orleans Times-Picayune newspaper declared him to be qualified for the White House, stating, "Piyush Jindal was born at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge, a natural-born U.S. citizen, who like every other child born in America, could, constitutionally, grow up to be president."
Kyle Plotkin, Jindal's press secretary, echoed that proclamation, telling WND, "The governor is obviously a natural-born citizen."
Meanwhile, Marco Rubio was born in Miami, Fla., on May 28, 1971, to Mario and Oriales Rubio who were born in Cuba, though the senator has not released his birth certificate for the world to scrutinize.

I believe you are correct.
The courts will hold that there are just two types of citizens; those who are entitled to citizenship by the circumstances of their birth (thus called ‘natural born’), and those who are ‘naturalized’
The courts are going to pay no more attention to original intent in this case than they do to original intent regarding the ‘general welfare’ clause. Too much is at stake for the statists.
If the Republicans were smart, they would turn the political tables on the Dems & name Rubio to the ticket. Then you can let THEM piss off the Latino vote by challenging it in court.
:)
I'm pinging the Sunday night mod....if this silliness doesn't get yanked and stopped, I'm through -- finito, nada, no mas -- supporting Free Republic; the Chris Matthews/Keith Olbermann types will have restocked their ammunition based on dumbass threads just like this.
Just a hat tip to the mods that this place is running amok.....reining in is way overdue.
Before everyone gets out of whack, Obama is a not a natural born citizen which disqualifies him to be POTUS because of his father. The powers that be are doing this because of their one world government push.
We have no secured borders and an ineligible President. Look where it’s gotten us. People with no loyalty to their country should not head it.
I for one don’t want to answer to a bunch of buffoons just because they are rich.
Why don’t you just leave the thread? No one asked for your opinion.
Neither meet the requirements for natural born, both are naturalized citizens from a different country,
Contemporaneous writings of the founders and others. But what I think, or the writer of this blog thinks, or anyone else out there thinks doesn’t matter. What matters is what politicians think and what the Supreme Court might rule if they ever get the case.
They don’t need to be for the offices they hold. Should they choose to run for the presidency down the line and they don’t qualify, oh well. We’ll just have to choose somebody else.
Wow........ What a revelation. Has it ever been in doubt with regards to Jindal? I don't think it's ever been claimed his parents were citizens at his birth as they both had come to LA on student visas while his mother was some three months pregnant.
What matters is what is written in the Constitution (very little) and case law (again very little). Politicians will try to twist but mostly they will seek to prevent it from reaching the Supreme Court.
This article is nonsense and simply another effort by Farah to stir things up.
Obama’s father wasn’t a US citizen.
Case closed.
..and dunham obama steve harrison bounel was born in kenya.
The supreme court has already ruled, they sent the coolies and their children home. And by that act said the 14th did not apply. Blacks law, did you are a citizens of the land of your father.
>>>Obamas father wasnt a US citizen.
>>>Case closed.
You know that. I know that. Joe 6-pack doesn’t give a crap.
Really? So it is your contention that the Fathers of our Country would withhold the presidency to someone born overseas whose father/mother was on active duty and born in a foreign hospital?
That's a new one. I highly doubt that was their intent.
harrison bounel is running for president in 2012 and he was born in kenya...
